Hi dzodzo85, I've did research about bb's opinion on the Powerscore CR Bible, and, if I am right, according to him it's slightly better than the MGMAT CR strategy guide. That's why I chose to buy Powerscore's for my preparation. But they are very close Regards,

Hi, miabullitt. I think that it might be better to choose either Kaplan or Manhattan, but not both as they are comprehensive guidebooks. In other words, covering both would probably be redundant. The OG 12 (or the upcoming OG 13) is essential, but the OG Verbal and OG Quant books are good too. The GMATClub tests should be saved until later - after you completed your math guidebook and the OG material.

maffo wrote: Hi everybody, i am pretty new in the club and i got confused with so many different books. i don't have any particular dead line so i would start and approach the exam in the best way. a friend lent to me the princeton review, i didn't find it to usefull, to easy and whitout any detailed strategies. my question is: what's THE BEST book to start with? the one which can help me with the most efective strategies? I would try and get the MGMAT set this will provide you with everything you need. The math is very good covered well in the 5 books. The sentence correction book is also very good. I did not really use the reading comprehension book or critical reasoning book as I used the CR Powerscore book, which is very good and highly recommend! This set will take a while to go through and you will need OG 12 or 13 to maximize the practice but it is a great complete set. You could probably get a used set of Mgmat 4th edition cheap and then just purchase the IR book cause you will have to take the gmat with IR after June 5th and purchasing the book new will give you 5 Mgmat CAT tests which will be very helpful. Also the Gmat grammar book will be free coming up I think the date is June 5th or earlier. It is extra help I would try it out. There is also some other new resources coming on June 5th so stay posted. Best of luck

Manhattan gmat's advanced treatment of math is much better and diligent than that of Veritas. Some of the questions in the advanced word problem review can be solved by grade one student. For example, question no. 89. However, Veritas reading comprehension and sentence correction guides are top of the line, almost as indispensable as the Powescore guides are for critical reasoning.

Sorry bb but I do not see the nuance between this table about books for studying 2011-2012 and this one best-gmat-books-77703.htmlI mean: where is the difference ??' I really do not see it I follow the board steadly, and to be honest: I have purchased all these books, from 8 MGMAT strategy guides to math and verbal foundation, kaplan 800, grammar guide by gmatclub....and the three OG. If I read the whole forum the result should be the same, I guess ahahha . So I do not understand why this new classification. thanks

Thanks for the updated info but with the amount of books recommended I believe this would only lead to a brain malfunction It would be better to kep it simple and precise.

NO, it will work for a LONG time if you keep it closed, though even if not, it does not dry that quickly either. The marker is high quality - i use it to write notes and checks and it works just fine

Hello-- I have OG 12. I am thinking buying OG Quant (possibly OG verbal as well). Do the questions in OG 12 and OG Quant repeat or are they mostly new questions?

thank you! I read that OG Quant is somewhat easy (compared to GMATclub tests and other things). I have all the MGMAT workbooks and am looking to supplement that studying with practice questions (since they dont provide many). I am thinking of supplementing my studying with OG Quant first.. before diving into OG 12 since OG Quant is easier. Thoughts?

They do not overlap, so you are safe. However, they are easier in the OG quant (esp in the quant) and OG Verbal than in the OG 12thanks!
