I quote my question What should I buy in order to be able to sit for the new GMAT?

Thanks!

Hi bb,
Hi guys,

as you know - I've been quite for a while around here and am some months into my GMAT preparation. Unfortunately, starting April, I only had few possibilities to study and therefore got behind schedule. Initially, I wanted to take GMAT before the conversion in June, but then decided that the Integrated Reasoning section won't be that much of a difference.

My question:

Having in mind that I already have the MGMAT 4 Ed. 8 pack (just CR from Powescore), OG 12 pack (with VG2 and QG2), as well as both MGMAT Foundations books, which new books should I buy now to be updated? I definitely think of getting OG13 (Verbal 3? Quant 3?), but am still unsure about the new MGMAT books. I will definitely need something about Integrated Reasoning. Would you recommend me to buy the the MGMAT IR?

I surely want to sit for the GMAT until the End of July.

How many new questions have been introduced in OG 13 that are not available in OG 12. Does OG 13 has more SC problems that deal with meaning issues (as are seen in the new GMAT format).

Is it absolutely essential to buy OG 13 to ace the new format? How about the IR section of OG 13? Is it helpful?

I am a bit concerned with the answers here as there isn't much about the Manhattan GMAT Complete Strategy Guide Set, 5th Edition

and therefore I was wondering if this version is different or better than the previous edition (from 2009 I believe)

I was thus sceptical about the necessity of buying the last version !

I am also going to buy the OG13, after having read a lot of this forum I figured out those two should be a strong basis that I could complete anytime afterward with more specific material.

D'avance merci !

I am sorry that I haven't taken yet the time to introduce myself nor to complete my profile but I am in a bit of a hurry as I need to get those books asap

There is a deal happening on Facebook's GMAT page for $185 you get a number of books. What do you think of the value of this deal? However, I do not want to have multiple books that aim for teaching the same field. There are so many books that you may get lost among them. So, does anyone have the suggestion about the best combination of books? Best one to cover quantitative topics A to Z: ? Best one to cover verbal topics A to Z: ? The score you might achieve is a fairly individual matter, but OG12 + OG Quant2 + OG Verbal2 + Manhattan GMAT 8 Guides Set is usually enough for an average student to reach his maximum potential.

After you start studying you might realize that you need extra work for certain sections or specific concepts, but other than that you should be fine as far as theory and basic exercising are concerned.

Gmatclub has a very good selection of upper level questions; personally I would use that instead of, for example, Kaplan's 800.

Cheers!

I am in the process of finishing the MGMAT math set (equations, fractions, word problems, numbers and equalities etc). I have finished OG 12 for all PS and DS questions on mathematics..In addition to these books i am considering doing the MGMAT advanced quant, and the Kaplan 800 ( both of which i have allready purchased) . I am looking for a score close to 50 on the quant. section of the GMAT. I would love to get opinions on whether i should buy more books for quant or move straight over to the OG13 and solving math secitons on the Kaplan, MGMAT CAT's that i have purchased.

For verbal I am halfway into the GMAT CLUB grammar book, after which i will be moving on to the MGMAT verbal set and the kaplan and Princeton review verbal books. I would appreciate some advice on some other materials for verbal , especially for Sentence correction as i find this aspect of the verbal section the hardest.

P.s - I am looking for a 700+ score on my GMAT and as per my assessment I am around the 80 percentile mark in quant after having finished the MGMAT set and the OG 12 ( 10 wrong answers out of the 230 OG12 PS timed) ...

The tests are timed and you get on-the-spot analysis of your performance on every question in test.
Another cool feature is the "Tutorial Mode" where you can see the detailed solution of every question with some useful tips and short-cuts.

The questions are arranged in increasing order of difficulty just like in GMAT. Best of luck GMATers .....

For ease of it, you can just OG 13 + the MGMAT Guides - that's what most do.

You can also add a few options such as GMAT Roadmap (I like this one)
Foundations of GMAT Quant if you need quant extra basics
Foundations of GMAT Verbal if you need verbal extra help
And that's it.

This is plenty for about 3-4 months.
you an also add the Kaplan Premier (1,100 pages and 6 CAT's for about \$40) but that's only if you need extra CAT's

Hi BB,

Can you tell us more about this Manhattan GMAT roadmap, will it be useful for somebody who has already taken GMAT, or is it good for fresh starters only and also a little about its contents.
