Hi,
I am based in Sydney and have started with my GMAT preparation. Planning to sit for the exam in the next 4 months (Dec'19) and targeting a 700+score. I have started with the Manhattan Prep Strategy guides.
Would like to know which online course will be the best to achieve the target. Few pointers -
Note: Have not tried any diagnostic test yet.

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Best GMAT Course - How to Choose [#permalink]
Thank you bb for the detailed post. Could you please help me in selecting a course? Details below:

1. Started prep a week ago. Got acquainted with the basic structure; question format & sections.

2. Have taken trial from Crack Verbal & Magoosh.

3. Ordered GMAT OG 2021

4. Target to give exam in Dec'20, aiming for 700 + score

5. Basic Quant knowledge & bilingual in English

Have read that Magoosh's Quant questions are not completely in line with GMAT format and CrackVerbal's Quant is not its strong point.

Could you please suggest where do I enrol for my GMAT coaching

Hi sartorial,

Most GMAT Companies offer some type of free materials (practice problems, Trial Accounts, videos, etc.) that you can use to 'test out' a product before you buy it. We have a variety of those resources at out site (www.empowergmat.com). I suggest that you take advantage of all of them then choose the one(s) that best matches your personality, timeline and budget.

In addition, you would likely receive more advice if you start your own post-thread (instead of piggy-backing on this one). Just click the orange "New Topic" button in the General Strategies Forum and post your message.

https://gmatclub.com/forum/general-gmat ... ategies-1/

It would help to post some information about your timeline and goals, including:
1) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
2) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
3) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?

You can also feel free to PM me directly if you prefer.

Since you are early-on in your studies, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can take 2 for free at www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 3.5 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back and we can discuss the results and come up with a study plan.

Hi bb,

Could you help me in selecting a course to improve both my quant and verbal scores.

My official GMAT results were 670 (Q47, V35, IR4), gave the exam a month back. I want to improve my quant to Q51 and Verbal to V42.
Please suggest some best courses/materials that can help me to improve my score.
For Quant I am planning to buy GMAT club tests, but I am not sure for verbal.

Hi LavanyaB,

To start, you will likely receive more of a response if you start your own new post-thread (instead of piggy-backing on this one). In that post, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How long have you studied so far? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) What is your overall goal score?

If you took the GMAT at a Test Center, then you might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.
