Best GMAT study book you can buy at local Barnes & Noble

I just decided that I am going to make a run at R2 this year, after originally thinking I would wait until next year. I really need to find a good (or decent) prep book that I can buy at Barnes & Noble today, then maybe order (better) stuff online later on. Is PR the best? Also, where can I download some CAT or paper tests so I can give myself a diagnostic? I am dying to start doing some problems.

I liked Princeton Review and Nova's GMAT guide. The Original GMAT Guide (yellow cover) is the bible. However, I have only seen it at a couple of stores

Definitely start with the PR book. It has the best overview by far, and I really liked the tests as well.

Then order the Official Guide (although they ought to have that too) and download the free GMATPrep tests.

I recommend the Manhattan Review math and verbal guide--both are available at Barnes and Noble. Each gives a complete overview of the test material, and the practice problems included are stronger than those in PR materials.
