Big diff. in scores of GmatPrep Test 1 & Gmat Prep Test 2! [#permalink] New post 12 Oct 2013, 06:29
Hello All,

I have been following this forum for quite some time now. But this is the first time I am posting here.

I am scheduled to take the GMAT in two weeks. However my mock test scores have baffled me. My tests scores are the following:

Kaplan Paper Test - Approximation - (560-590) (left about 12 questions blank - ran out of time)
GMAT Pill CAT Test - (530)(Left 10-12 questions blank)
Manhattan GMAT CAT - (650)(Finished the test) (Q40, V38)
Princeton Review CAT - (690) (Finished the Test) (Q40, V42)
GMAT Prep exam 1 - (660)(Finished the test) (Q42, V40)
GMAT Prep exam 2 - (530)(Finished the Test) (Q28, V35)

My question is what do I make of the last score? My target score is 650+ and I thought I was good to go. But the last exam has brought down my motivation and confidence significantly. Any advise on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You!

Hi,

Your Verbal Score is kind of ok for the score you are expecting.

The Quants part really bad in the last test. Did you do the GMAT Prep 2nd test with the concentration as you did you 1st one?.

You need practice more in Quants. Analyze your tests- Make note of weaker section and target those and improve in those.

Write another mock once you are done and check where you stand in those.

For post regarding the Quants improvement-http://gmatclub.com/forum/a-way-to-increase-from-q35-40-to-q-138750.html.

For verbal part if you need- http://gmatclub.com/forum/how-to-go-to-v40-from-v30-142366.html

All the best :)

Thank you for your response. I reset the GMAT Prep Test 2, and took it again - scored 680 (Q46, V38). I know that this score is somewhat inflated because I did see some repeat questions

Yeah, When reset, you will see the inflation in score.

If you any other mocks in MGMAT or other CAT you can try.

If you are looking for the best and hard Quant questions you can subscribe to GMAT Club test. They are mostly above 650 Level.
