G'day,

Just finished working through the verbal sections of the Princeton books in exam conditions. Across all question ranges and difficulty levels I was getting close to 80% accuracy. Recently I started working through the Magoosh practice questions online and my accuracy has plummeted to below 40%. Part of me thinks the change might be due to the fact that during the text book questions I had been activity marking the text and underlining, something that you cannot do in the real exam. The question format of both appears relatively similar. Any other explanations for what might be the cause?

Well, to be honest, there is no point in comparing accuracy. I would rather use a metric based on topics. If I got all Pronoun agreement problems correctly on Princeton, then the mistakes that I made on Magoosh must be something that I have not covered in that section.

Don't go on over analyzing your scores, especially with a bird's eye view. Take small things at a time and try to find out your areas of development.

Best,
Souvik
