A boat can travel 1.5 times the distance down the stream than up the stream in the same time. If the speed of the current is 3 KMPH, Find the speed of the boat in still water

Answer is C.

Simple question, messy language.

Lets say boat's speed is B and current's speed is C.

Upstream speed : B - C
Downstream speed : B + C

Distance will be the same both times. lets say D.
given : time it takes upstream = 1.5 times time it takes downstream

D/(B + C) = 1.5 * [D/(B - C)]

Solving B = 5 C

given : C is 5 KMPH
So B is 15 KMPH

I would rather use the answer options provided and see how it fits in, starting at middle option, 15+3, 15-3 gives ratio of 1.5.
