I was doing self preparation for a couple of months mainly from OG and Kaplan
In the two pearson mock's i got 670 & 660.
Gave my Gmat today and scored 600!
Here's what i think went wrong.
AWA: Did pretty well i guess, 4-5 paragraphs and as per the templates everyone follows.
IR: Attempted all questions and was fairly comfortable.
During my mocks i was constantly getting 2-3 question wrong in the first 10 questions,my instructor told me to get the first 10 right and i ll improve 10-20 marks. So i spent good amount of time on the first 10 and tried not to answer any of them incorrectly. And suddenly i realized ii had 15 questions to do in 25 odd minutes. Also i got a lot of questions from the number system [even/odd,ineaulities,modulus] and frankly i did not had a good control over them. Maybe it was just my bad luck i got so many of them [12-15 i guess].
For sentence correction i had read Manhattan Sentence Correction
like a bible and had a fairly good command over this section.
But in my practice tests i made a lot of mistakes in RC and SC, narrowed down to 2 options and then most of the times chose the wrong one.So again i made sure i dint repeat that in the actual test.So as a result again lost crucial time and had to rush through my final questions of verbal.
What to do now:
One part of me says forget it now, thats the best you could do
The other part says,i need to hit back at Gmat, i cant be that bad.
So, i decided to hit back.
Now i need some advice as to what to do this time so that i dont fall on my face again.
DS questions involving number system, P&C and probability[they scare me,hopefully i got only 1 question from this and that too fairly easy one].
Critical Reasoning and Reading Comprehensions.
