Before you over-commit to the anything beyond the basic concept of combinations and permutations, you should know that both question types are very rare on the GMAT. I didn't see more than one or two when I scored 50 on quant and I didnt see any at all when I scored 47.

I second that, I saw one discrete probability for an official Q48 - these questions are indeed rare.

Thank you for all your suggestions :) i will practice from the manhattan book and from the math book on this forum. I was under the impresdion that vombinations are very popular in the real exam. I read some debriefs where the writers had had about 4-5 questions on the test...
Thank you again

Hmm... not really that popular. I had 1 probability question that involved combinations but that's really it.
I can tell yo with certainty that I bombed it but still got 49 for quant.

I took GMAT twice and had 2 prob/com problems each time. So, it is not so popular.

I'm hoping that this ave number for these types of questions hold for when I write the real thing - I can't stand combinations and probability - really confuses me!
