Doesn't 700 seem like a lot? Given that the class size is supposed to be between 550 and 575, I wonder if they underestimated the number of applicants that would accept offers of admission. It would be interesting to know how many people were in the student directory at this time last year.

For what it's worth, last year's thread had a similar meltdown after R1 where they thought there was an 80% yield based on the admitted students page and OMG THE CLASS IS FULL!! Then the last 20 pages are like eleventy million people getting in off the WL in the summer. I'm going to chill for now. I think HBS said they'll begin admitting off the waitlist this week, and then the domino effect begins.

Did anyone else check the "application proof" on the application status page to make sure it was the actual application they submitted? I only ask because I noticed that the application they have on file on my application status page is the first draft of my application and not the final application I submitted.

Reason to be concerned? Or not a big deal?

I think that you should ask the Admissions Office. Mine is the final version.

Hi,

Just one simple, timid question.

After uploading materials, (though 'upload' button with Post-Decision Material of Upload Materials section, and 'Edit Portfolio' button of Portfolio section)
I realized that there is no submission button!! and no email notification of delivery!!

Is just uploading the end of the process?

It is quite terrifying to imagine they have not received all the work I have done. :)

Thank you

The wait is painful - you know that adcom is looking at our files this week and beginning of next week. Any other news anyone?

ps and yes, the uploading is the end of the process.

Only update I can provide is that the number of admitted students in the director is now around 630. Not surprisingly, this number has declined a bit following the Wharton and HBS deposit deadlines.

There may be some people who are on wait lists at other schools, paid deposits at multiple schools and have yet to decide, or may decide to skip b-school altogether. I have no idea how to estimate that number...could be 5%, could be 25%.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

keep in mind that this 630 number may include folks from R1 who have paid deposit deadline and have not withdrawn from Booth yet (although they intend to matriculate at another school). the second deposit deadline is June 1st, so would be interesting to see how that changes the numbers. in my case, I declined Booth R2 and my account was deleted the next day.

Was just going through my old docs and I realized that my waitlist update letter to Booth has a typo in the very last sentence. Whoops

Some Wharton R3 applicants and waitlisters will get admitted on May 8th and might take it over Booth, Kellogg May 14, Stanford - May 16, Columbia - rolling and HBS - May 17. So those who prefer other schools getting off WL or getting admitted in R3 could make more room for us. Any other comments?

With deposit deadlines for Wharton, Stanford, Harvard due in May, the waitlist picture would be clearer around June, 1st.

With 630 students in the directory, and class size of 570, at least 10.0% of the students must drop out of list to create room for us waitlisters. That number seems quite impossible.

All of 1 person on GC and BTG combined got off Wharton's WL today, so I'm not expecting too much help there.

You can add yourself to the directory before you actually pay any deposit. It's likely that they just haven't gotten around to cleaning out the directory of students who never paid their deposit.

I was mostly referring to Booth admits in R1 who applied to H/W/S in R2 and got in or decided not to pursue the b-school. I am sure that some R1 admits (with deposit or just in the directory) will not matriculate. How do people get off the WL in other schools - rolling or on a certain date?

I am trying to keep my expectations low but the hope is still there. Too bad at this point it's just a waiting game.

The directory still has full-time admits that have committed to other schools. I looked up a guy I know who is a R1 Booth admit (deposit paid) but has decided to attend Wharton instead. He is still in the directory. I would assume there are more like him in the directory. R2 Booth admits who did not accept their offer are no longer included. I think it is going to take a while to do a full sweep of the entire directory to remove people who decided to forfeit their R1 deposits. I will assume that there are also a few people on either the H or S WL that might remove themselves in the summer if they are admitted to either school.

What about admits in R2 who paid the deposit to, say W/Kellogg and Booth and decided to attend W/Kellogg? It is getting more and more speculative - I guess we will find out on the 16th and June 1st - a week and 3 weeks to the deadline...hopefully, sooner than later.

If someone applied to all of their schools in R2, then they likely would not double deposit. They'd choose Booth or not choose Booth. I think the R2 deposits the majority of those will hold. You might lose 5-10 people MAX to maybe HBS or Stanford if they get off the WL this summer. Other than that I don't see there being much fluctuation. Still, the directory is at about 625 people, if even 25 of them were R1 depositors who decided to go to another school in R2, that would be a lot. I can't say for certain but yield is still looking really good at this point.
