Booth Part-Time vs Ross FT [#permalink] New post 18 Jan 2014, 09:22
Hi guys!

This is probably one of the more difficult decisions i had to make and hope people on this forum can give me some guidance.

Background: I worked at BB out of college doing internal accounting for about 4 month. Then transitioned to a boutique fixed income shop and did trading and credit analysis for the next 3+ years. In the meantime, passed all three levels of the CFA exam.

Post-MBA: I still want to stay in finance and would like to either aim for a IBD at a BB or move to a bigger buy- side firm (think PIMPCO)

I understand the drawback of a PT program and lack of internship opportunities, but after talking to some Booth PT students, career switching is pretty common and not too hard.

I know this decision would be alot easier if I wanted to switch to consulting post mBA....

Any advice would be helpful, THANKS!

This is a difficult question. Firstly congratulations on making it to both the programs. Your post MBA goal is not difficult to achieve through either of the programs. A full time MBA program definitely has its benefits. Why do you want to take a part time program over a full time one? A full time mba program will also help you build a good network at your business school. So, unless a part time program is an absolute neccessity, a full time program should be your choice.

Good Luck!
