Folks, I am in a bit of a pickle. I was lucky enough to get accepted to both Booth and Kellogg this year, and now need to decide which to attend.
Post-MBA, my dream is to do something food + tech related. I haven't figured out how or where to incorporate these two loves yet though - my suspicion is I'd likely be doing this in a product management/product marketing role. Barring that, I plan on doing product marketing at a consumer tech firm. I want to end up back in California.
I'd love to hear your feedback!
I know fit will be a really big point for me, and in just conversations w/ folks from both schools, I've liked both about equally. How can I use the admit weekend most effectively to determine the right fit? I feel like the school I visit on Friday will clearly get a huge advantage b/c that's when all the bonding activities will be happening.
First off, I've never visited either school and I won't be attending Booth's admit weekend (logistical problems that accompany the international location) but here's what I would do in your place
Keep an objective mind, don't assume that the school you visit on Friday will have any sort of advantage. I say this because ASWs are kind of a marketing initiative to attract the admits so I doubt whether they present a truly authentic picture of life at their school.
Seek out people interested in your field at both events, definitely talk to professors who have expertise in this area and see which school's career services would provide more resources.
I won't go into fit with the community since you've already done that. I'd be curious though to see how Booth's flexible curriculum and the Kilts center stack up to that of Kellogg's resources, whether they would give you more leeway to explore the opportunities in depth.
