Submit to admit in 3 weeks! That has to be the fastest turnaround time for just about any school. Congratulations!!

Agreed, 20 days is the fastest turn around that I have heard of at any program. Any other R2 applicants hear back?

Congrats HockeyGuy! Are you going to pick BC?

My timeline was also very fast.

Interviewed: 01/30/2013 (via Skype with a 2nd yr student)
Received Admissions Decision: 02/04/2013

Also, I found the deposit/decision time-line to be quicker than expected. BC wanted a $1,000 deposit by March 11th and then the remaining $500 balance on April 15 along with a final enrollment decision. I was able to neogiate an extension as I await to hear back from other schools. I think BC's admissions process isn't as formalized or structured as other schools. Not hearing back is by no means a negative at this point. There are still 3 weeks until deadline.

Hey Brookstone,
No I don't think I am accepting the BC offer. I got accepted to Texas McCombs and am also waiting to hear back from some other schools I interviewed with. Good luck with your decision!

If anyone has any questions regarding BC, feel free to shoot me a note. I graduated from the program this past May.

Thank you for te detailed response! I am aware of what you are saying I guess a better way to phrase my question would be does being American make up for the gap in my score and the average for the school? Of the average GMAT score is 680 for Carroll are you implying that the average for Americans is lower, say 650?

I'd guess the average GMAT for internationals is around 700 for BC (based on first hand knowledge of my classmates and talks with friends who worked in admissions). So, if 0.3*700 + 0.7*X = 666, X = 651. So, yes, assuming that the internationals come in around 700, 650 for US-based students is about right. This is true in terms of reality, too. GMAT scores didn't come up a ton at b-school but when they did a lot of the "good" American students scored in the 680-730 range and there was a decent contingent of "I did really badly on the GMAT" students in the class.

Remember 10% of the class scored under a 600 in the most recent class. Also, 10% scored higher than a 710. For reference, my class had a middle 80% range of 570-720, a gigantic range in terms of GMAT scoring (like 50th to 95th percentile!), so that has narrowed recently (a good thing in my mind).

Here's the rub, though: BC will let in a lot of folks with low GMATs to fill seats if the yield is down that year. So, if you have a 600-620 GMAT and want to go to BC badly, express your undying love for the school and expect to pay near full price (or full price) you'll likely do well.

Thanks a lot for the response. BC is my top choice. I recently got accepted to northeastern which actually has a lower acceptance rate than BC. Although it has slightly lower test scores and work experience. But I was accepted exactly 21 days after I submitted which I have heard is extremely fast. So I must have done something right! I really feel that my essays are strong. I just want to get an interview to BC because I think I could convince them. I submitted my app a week ago and haven't heard back yet. Any idea what the normal timetable for an interview invite is?

Congrats! If you dont get invited to an interview does that mean you really have no shot? Does anyone know how that works

if you don't get an interview you don't get an admit! everyone who gets admitted gives an interview.

Hey guys,

I have an interview next week. BC is my top choice, so can anyone share any insight on the interview. I have read that it is usually with a second year student and can tend to be conversational? Any details would be helpful. Thanks!

Hey Guys,

I submitted my app on Jan 15th in Round 2 deadline. Its been 45 days since and I haven't heard anything yet.

Does this mean I am not selected if it is taking so long. Also what is the decision date for Round 2.

Anyone else facing a similar situation?

My Profile:
GMAT - 660
TOEFL - 104
Work Ex - 57 Months in IT Industry

Under Grad - 3.47 GPA
10th - 88%
12th - 88%

Thanks

My interview was over Skype with a second year student. He came in blind - meaning he hadn't looked at my application, but had received a copy of my resume right before the interview (he admitted to not looking at). The interview was very basic. He asked about career goals, past experiences, Why BC, how I would fit in, etc. Then he wanted to see if I had any questions for him. All in all, interview only took 20-25 minutes. It was very relaxed and conversational. I think the students get a vote on the admissions committee meeting, so the 2nd year does have some pull.

I wouldn't give up hope just yet..a friend of mine applied R2 as well with me and just got his interview invite today and has scheduled it on the 18th which is after the decision date. I think Carrolls admission process is a bit different to most other schools and their turnaround time from interview-decision seems to be very quick as well. So I'm assuming they go thru your entire application first and if you nail your interview you're pretty much in

Leaning towards Mendoza right now...but still undecided. I still have a few schools left to hear from before I make the final decision.

I feel lucky to be able to make a choice between some great schools. Good luck to everybody else!
