Yes....even I got the same value. I reread the question couple times to ensure I am not making any silly mistake.

Yep....Answer should have been 25.

This is a very wordy question. Can someone say from personal experience whether GMAT can give you such a wordy question?

The question is wordy but the concept is very straight forward and you get your answer the moment you analyze the question. Take a minute to analyze each statement and there will be no difficulty. Sometimes, GMAT does give you long questions where you have to filter out the useful information. That's no different from what you do in CR or RC for that matter.
