Breaking Rent Lease for Bschool? [#permalink] New post 09 Mar 2009, 16:30
So now that I know I am moving to business school for sure in few months, I am in a situation where I must break my lease and pay penalty to get out of it.

I think the penalty is my security deposit plus one month's rent. This is close to $5000.

Anyone else in the similar situation? Any advice on how I can reduce or avoid the penalty?

Can't you sublet for the remaining time? If you are in NYC, it should be fine. Even at slightly below market, it will save you money.
