Hello,

Does anyone know whether the computer system or the examiner would deduct score because both British and American English appear in one essay?

Thank you very much.

I would doubt there is a penalty for this technicality; however, I would try to follow the US rules just in case; not that much difference.

I am wondering if "colour" would be penalised as a grammatical error as technically it is different from "color"? :)

I have made myself switch to US English for GMAT sake but my fingers automatically type "s" instead of a "z" and sometimes I can't see that without a spell checker.

P.S. I am not a native speaker but in the company I work for the official language, which is used in all emails and documentation, is English English.
