Hey guys! New to the forum, I appreciate any help.
Got admitted to both MSU (Broad) and IU (Kelley). MSU generously offered a nice scholarship and assistantship that covers the majority of cost. IU offered an assistantship that partially covered cost, but not to the level MSU did.
I'm looking for supply chain/logistics with a possible eventual transition to consulting, tech industry.
IU certainly has the esteem and alum, but MSU is more affordable and directly scm
Any advice?
If you want to go for core supply chain ill recommend MSU anyday over kelley...kelley is a good overall college. But when it cones to core Scm there arrnt a lot of colleges that are better than Broad.
I myself want to go for SCM and have spent a year just researching colleges . Even if you look at us news rankings MSU is only second to MIT . I Advise you just take a look at MSU vs Kelley 's scm faculty, that will really help you decide
I agree, I would look at it like this... the cost of attending is so small in the grand scheme of things I wouldn't put much emphasis on any scholarships or program cost. I would really care about how good the program is and which future employers recruit there. If I had to rank, in order of importance, my criteria for a school it would look like this:
1. Program/Specialty Rank
2. Extent of recruiting efforts by my target companies
3. Location of alumni (for networking)
4. Cost / Scholarships
The better the program -> the better recruiting from your target firms -> the better your post-grad opportunities (including pay). If you want SCM, and MSU is considered one of the best in the world, MSU makes sense to me.
