CDE do not make sense for many reasons such as unparallel, unidiomatic and unclear.

A is better than B though "it" in A is also unclear to me but B is also changes the meaning and in passive. So left A.

I also like A.

I prefer "to support" of to support/ the supporting of / to be the supports of (A,E)
A is active, clear, and concise than E

I don't see anything wrong with A. E looks okay too but the construction is awkward.

I went for B too initially - fell for the"That" trap but looking more at it I feel A is the better option. C, D and E are out for the same reasons someone else mentioned above - not parallel, unidiomatic...

I like A, but I don't like that use of it. Is that ok to use it like that? It seems somewhat ambiguous.

I picked A because of "to work", "to own", and "to support".

I choose B, because of my feeling" believed that" or "believe to do smt". I cannot find the reference for "it" and "it"

Struggling between A and E.

E is so verbose and could be 2 sentences. 'and' is not much useful.

A is better but would have liked "believed it to be" rather than "believe it"

Whats OA?

Bronson Alcott believed it immoral to work for wages or to own property, leaving it to his wife and daughters to support the family.

(A) it immoral to work for wages or to own property, leaving it to his wife and daughters to support believed should be followed by it was
(B) that working for wages or owning property was immoral and left to his wife and daughters the supporting of supporting of is ackward
(C) that working for wages or to own property was immoral and left to his wife and daughters the supporting of working for wages or to own property arent parallel.should be working for wages or owing property OR work for wages or to own property
(D) it to be immoral to work for wages and owning property, and he left it to his wife and daughters to be the supports of work for wages and owning property arent parallel. Same reasoning as above
(E) there was immorality in working for wages or owning property, and he left it to his wife and daughters to support working is in parallel with owning -> ANSWER
