You have a very interesting background and I believe you could create a very attractive application. First, regarding your choice of schools:
If you are interested in VC/PE, I recommend you look at MBA programs in Northern California (first and foremost), New York, and Boston. The majority of VC activity still occurs in Northern California, although New York is growing (and has a very large PE market). Texas and Duke are excellent institutions, but in terms of their location, they may not be ideal (particularly for the VC industry). It doesn't look like you were considering schools in New York at all, and I believe Berkeley Haas would provide more opportunities in the industries you are looking at than Ross.
A large part of your application will depend on how you present your personal brand. With some schools in particular (HBS, etc.), you will need to emphasize your leadership experience (Ex. managing others at work, etc.). Leadership experience and potential is going to be a critical component to your application.
