What periodical or newspaper would you recommend most to bone up on current business issues? WSJ? Economist? Greatly appreciate any feedback!

Definitely read the WSJ every day. The Financial Times is good as well, but one or the other should be fine. Then, you might want to supplement that with something like Barron's or Businessweek.

I would like to extend this subject to a broader topic - business/economic books.

Books such as Capitalism and Freedom by Freedman, In and Uncertain World by R.Rubin, The Age of Turbulene by Greenspan, etc.

These are just some of the books that I feel would give some historical perspective on Economics, Capitalism, Wall Street etc. However, i want to extend this list and want to solicit advice from you guys. I am sure that a host of students from non-fin background (like me) would be into such books as they start B-school. Can you guys recommend a few more books that you might have read and recommend?

Thanks.

I read the Economist religiously, but it's probably not the best for a pure business-focus given the breadth of political and other non-business info. Also, it's probably not the best if you are US-focused. WSJ is probably best overall.
