Business School Application vs Undergraduate App [#permalink]
21 Jul 2012, 17:38
Hey guys,
I am new to the B school application process and am an incoming sophomore at an Ivy. I was wondering about the process of applying to business school vs applying to college? What are the main differences?
From what I understand, the acceptance rates are higher for Business school than the equivalent undergrads, sometimes by a solid factor of 2-3. Can someone speak about the difficulty of getting into the top Business schools vs top Undergrads?
Thanks

The difference in acceptance rates is probably due to the smaller applicant pool at bschool vs college. There's a lot more demand for bachelor degrees than there is for master degrees. Posted from my mobile device

What about the overall difficulty of admissions? What are the major differences?

The biggest difference for me is that in high school everyone I knew was taking the SATs, applying to colleges, and all around obsessing over everything together. As I move forward in my bschool applications, it can feel quite isolating. For many of us, I'm guessing, that's why we come to these forums. Bschool applications require a lot more organization, project management, and introspection. When people apply to undergrad their goals and interests don't really need to be nailed down. As a rising sophomore, you're getting way ahead of yourself though! Enjoy college, get good grades, and have fun.
