Hi,

Generally most of the top b-schools look for overall profile and they won't judge you only on the basis of GMAT. So don't worry much about low GMAT. I would like to know more about your profile to evaluate your chances better. Please mention about your work experience, achievements, extra curricular activities, academics background. You can also PM your profile for further discussion.

You can target Maryland Smith, Ohio-Fisher, Minnesota-Carlson, Babson-Olin, Boston college - Carroll, Smeal, Notredame- Mendoza, Purdue, SMU Cox, Texas A&M-Mays, Georgia-Schellar and Terry, Indiana- Kelley and in UK you can apply to Warwick, Manchester, Strathclyde are some of the good b-schools. Let me know if you have any questions...

Regards,
Neha Singh

620 is a very low score. You won't get into any good business schools with this score unless you have a great profile. We can comment better on the schools you can get into if you provide us more information on your profile. Go to US news rankings, and you will see the average GMAT for each school. You can apply to the ones that fall in your range. If I were you, I would focus all my energies on GMAT and crack it.

Good luck!

I agree with InterviewBay. While Neha is correct that the GMAT is only one component of the application process, it's a big one and it can close doors before the rest of your application even has a chance.

It seems you have only taken the exam twice (your post and profile are two different scores). If that's the case, your quant score is fine and see you did better there. However, improvements in quant will only get you so far. Focus all of your energies on verbal - a 27 is very low and any incremental improvement there will have a marked improvement in your overall score and percentile.

Don't worry about looking at schools until you've taken it again. School selection due diligence should be conducted when you have all the pieces figured out, the GMAT being one of them. I don't think you should settle for 620.

I concur with Neha that GMAT score is one of the components of the application package and sometimes it can be offset by exceptionally strong extra curricular, academics, and professional experience. I recently worked with applicants who got accepted into Manchester and ISB with GMAT scores of 610 and 620 respectively. You may email me your resume for a free profile evaluation.

And yes, I agree with others that if you have time , your best bet will be to retake GMAT and raise your score to increase your chances.
