A - makes the most sense. By analyzing.... is the modifying class that modifies the paleozoologists. So paleaozoologists should come after the clause.
B - though seems correct, but it has passive voice. A is better than this.
C - by analyzing..., there is a link.. - incorrect
D - passive voice again.
E - changes the meaning.

I would go with A only because the modifying phrase (first phrase) is telling you that Paleozoologists have analyzed blah, blah, blah. No other options could have done the analyzing (i.e. a link, a link, the discovery or the brain).
