Decided it was time to start this thread, as some of the 2008 threads begin to go away and the next group begin. Useful Links: USC Marshall Main Site Business Week USC ProfileApplying: Interviewed: Waitlisted: Dinged: Accepted: I personally am going for entertainment management/marketing/consulting. Between USC and UCLA, there's really no place better!

Here's the goal essay for 2009 F/T
1) Describe in a brief essay (do not exceed 250 words per section - 750 words maximum): a) your post-MBA short-term goals (immediately after graduation) b) your post-MBA long-term goals (3-5 years after graduation), and c) how your professional experience, when combined with an MBA degree, will enable you to achieve these goals
Did anyone start it yet? the guideline seems really strict, and restrict the applicant to only write 250 words per section. Did you guys follow this format to the dot? My long term goal is alot more comprhensive to my short term - as my short term is a stepping stone to my long term, I wonder how I can get all this in...

I spoke to admissions officers at the NBMBAA conference last week and asked that question. The advice I was given was pretty basic. They told me to stick to the guidelines as close as possible and any major deviation would signal failure to follow directions. From the conversation I wouldn't fluctuate more than 10%. I think if you spend 225 on one section and 275 on the other you should be fine.

I'll put my ticket in the hat for Marshall this year! Here is the full set of essay questions: Essay Questions: 1) Describe in a brief essay (do not exceed 250 words per section - 750 words maximum): a) your post-MBA short-term goals (immediately after graduation), b) your post-MBA long-term goals (3-5 years after graduation), and c) how your professional experience, when combined with an MBA degree, will enable you to achieve these goals. 2) Complete one of the following three statements. Do not exceed 500 words per question. a) The Marshall MBA Prime Program prepares students for doing business in a global economy. Describe a cross-cultural experience that challenged you. How did you meet this challenge and what did you learn from this experience? b) USC has garnered national acclaim for its emphasis on community outreach and service. How have you impacted your community? c) We all experience significant events or milestones that influence the course of our lives. Briefly describe such an event and how it affected you. 4) Optional Essay: Please add any additional information that you would like the Admissions Committee to consider in evaluating your application. Do not exceed 250 words. For Re-Applicants Only: If you have applied within the past two years, you are required to submit only one essay. These are by far the toughest essays of all the top CA schools.

Did anyone attend the Spotlight on Marshall event last weekend. It was very interesting. It was reduced to only one day because of the "economy", but still very informative. There weren't many people from out of state though.

guys, I'm trying to find the list of full-time employers of Marshall MBAs in 2008, but not been able to find it on the website. The only list I came across was the list of top employers, http://www.marshall.usc.edu/mbaadmissio ... erview.htmIf you are able to locate to complete list of employers, can you please post it here?

I was just at USC on Saturday for some volunteer work that I do. It was a beautiful, warm sunny day with 75-degree temps. One huge plus for this school is that the student body is arguably among the best in the country. Good luck to those applying!
