Calling all 2011 Kelley Applicants!

I'm sure you have probably already done this but you can ask the career center @ Kelley about specific firms and their placement and involvement with them.

I'd totally share but I'm flying in late Thursday to possibly partake in Friday events and/or start looking for places to live. :(

As we get closer we should try and set something up for a gmatclub get-together, drinks, etc. I will actually be getting in on Wednesday to meet up with some of my IU friends, look for places, etc. I believe on friday they have some CMA event/presentation (mentioned on this thread earlier, and confirmed by the 1st year who gave me the call). No other specifics on that but as we get closer should hopefully get more.

Would appreciate one info from other and earlier admits - did you get the scholarship info only as a part of the packet? or was it also mentioned in the email?

Any scholarship/graduate assistantship info would be included in the hard copy packet you get. They send out a nice leather binder, so it took 9 days for me to get the package.

btw I also have an admit from Smith. Now, I am confused, which one is better? Also, Kelley mentions the approximate expenses as $69000 for International students. Are these expenses for single year or both years? Appreciate your help!

^^^thats per year, includes housing and food etc.
tuition is around 45K
Kelly is much better than maryland.
But if you want be located in the dc area than smith may be better

Thanks a lot for your feedback Jordan! I am waiting for the Scholarship information. Given that I am getting $32000 in Scholarship + GA from Smith for the first year (and may get the same for the second year), Smith seems to be financially viable for me. I don't think that Kelley's placement in Indiana affects the jobs that students get there. If I am right, Kelley still attracts more companies than Smith does, despite being placed at a remote location. So, yes, I am with you that Kelley stands better than Smith.

Sounds like a great situation to be in! Personally, I would not pay 100K just for a little more prestige. Kelley seems to have really thought through the process for how students can make successful career transitions into pretty much any business related field.

To be honest, I think it depends on one's career aspirations. As much as I love Kelley, if I knew I wanted to work for M/B/B in consulting or work for one of the top i-banks, I would pick Ross/Fuqua/Stern over a full-ride at Kelley in a heart beat. Now, if one wanted to go into marketing, IMHO a person would be an idiot to turn down that full ride.
