so guys, this is a sorta unrelated reply to the convo that is going on, but i had a question about the time it took for you all to get your answers.
I had my interview in Bloomington on the 25th of April and had an interview at Penn State on the 28th. I was told i was admitted to Penn State on May 2nd. That turnover seemed pretty quick to me, so i dont know if there were other factors in the mix there that could have assisted in that (like me being an alum or them not exactly having a huge number of applicants) but from hearing the interviewer say "we hope to get you a decision at least in the middle to late May" makes me think a little about Indiana. (I know the Smeal school is pretty good, almost on the same level as Kelley, so i feel good about this opportunity.)
Now, when it comes to State College, finding a place to live gets progressively difficult every year (i guess the land owners there dont have a good feel for the whole "supply and demand" thing) so being able to know where i am going so i can start looking for a place to live is a pretty big deal, especially if i choose PSU. The thing is that i want to hear from Indiana first. I was wondering how long it took all of you guys to receive a decision and how it was received (by email or some sort of status check or call). I am hoping it will be pretty soon because, as they said in the tour/talk with admissions staff, they have fewer applications to go through since i submitted mine on the last deadline. They gave me the mid May timeline too, but seeing what happened with PSU, i am hoping similar short timing is possible.
Let me know! and thanks for all the incite on the forum! this is good stuff.
