^^^ Unfortunately, that not true either
I am considered highly overrepresented in B school. Both racially and career wise.
not trying to burst a bubble but why give them the benefit of the doubt? why expect them not to play too?

Imagine we are the adcoms, you and me.

Me: our class is looking slimmer than usual, yet some kids still undecided (we gave them extensions)

You: Lets give them money!!!

Me: good idea. What about the ones who already committed?

You: The hell with them.

Me: Ok boss

All that said, I understand that I am speculating here. Take my story with however many grains of salt you like. its just my story/

so guys, this is a sorta unrelated reply to the convo that is going on, but i had a question about the time it took for you all to get your answers.

I had my interview in Bloomington on the 25th of April and had an interview at Penn State on the 28th. I was told i was admitted to Penn State on May 2nd. That turnover seemed pretty quick to me, so i dont know if there were other factors in the mix there that could have assisted in that (like me being an alum or them not exactly having a huge number of applicants) but from hearing the interviewer say "we hope to get you a decision at least in the middle to late May" makes me think a little about Indiana. (I know the Smeal school is pretty good, almost on the same level as Kelley, so i feel good about this opportunity.)

Now, when it comes to State College, finding a place to live gets progressively difficult every year (i guess the land owners there dont have a good feel for the whole "supply and demand" thing) so being able to know where i am going so i can start looking for a place to live is a pretty big deal, especially if i choose PSU. The thing is that i want to hear from Indiana first. I was wondering how long it took all of you guys to receive a decision and how it was received (by email or some sort of status check or call). I am hoping it will be pretty soon because, as they said in the tour/talk with admissions staff, they have fewer applications to go through since i submitted mine on the last deadline. They gave me the mid May timeline too, but seeing what happened with PSU, i am hoping similar short timing is possible.

Let me know! and thanks for all the incite on the forum! this is good stuff. 8-)

hey glad your interview went well. Dont worry about finding a place in bloomington if you choose to go there. It pretty easy and from what I have seen (I was about to sign a lease) there are several locations available. Either way you want to get the jump on it.

Mid may is the 15th. I was told mid march and found out feb 28th!

So it could be soon. They released the R2 admits in two big batches, one on the 28th and then one a week later, maybe a little more. You should know really soon.

Either way dont stress, you'll find a place.

I love your sly response  Accurate, as usual, but vague as to the specifics. Perhaps you should try politics. I'm definitely with you of course. They don't have any incentive to send any additional money to those already fully committed, versus those on the fence (or at least pretending they are on the fence). Although, no doubt your GMAT would certainly help the class average (which IMHO is easier to manipulate than average GPA...look at Carlson from last year with their small class size and the really high GMAT average).

Cheers,
Tom

Haha, you crack me up Tom! fyi to all, Tom has met me so he knows.

Yea that GMAT thing is a big deal at smaller schools. When I first started applying I was talking to several admissions consultants via their "free pitch session" one kept saying "with your GPA you gotta apply to a school that is willing and able to eat that number"

The opposite of that is why I targeted Kelley. Perhaps it is purely the GMAT thats getting the $$$.

I'm planning to buy the the Asus U41JF-A1 which according to PC-MAG "is the most well-balanced mainstream laptop, combining excellent power with all-day battery life." You can also check pcmag.com for many more reviews.

I am not applying to Kelley until next year (2012); however I am attending an on campus event this November. Would it be in my best interest to interview this November?
