For what it's worth the Booth Gleacher center (which is the downtown campus, used mostly for EMBA classes) has flags from select countries out front, which represent countries that are well-represented at Booth. In addition to the U.S., there is one for Brazil and South Korea (I am sure there are others, including probably the UK). There definitely is a large South American presence at U of C, across both the undergraduate and graduate schools.
Actually that's because the Brazilian and South Korean consulates are in the NBC Tower next door to the Gleacher center.

Wow really? I guess it's just coincidence the school is well represented with people from both of those nations. Just ignore me then.

Congrats to everyone who has gotten an interview and Best of luck to all those who are waiting - Still a long way to go in Feb!
For all those with an invite, please start preparing for your interview asap. Celebrations should be postponed for later! While it is correct that the interview is 'just' another data point but please remember that it is an IMPORTANT data point. You need to excel in this part of the process also.
Lemme know if I can be of any help.
Regards, Sam

Hi Sam,
On Booth web site, it says that Booth's mid-decision date is 15th of February. They say that they will send invitations by that deadline. Approaching to this deadline, should we feel a possible ding coming ? Or is it likey that we can get an invitation after this deadline, too ?

I know I am not Sam, but I can answer this question. All interview invites and dings are released by Feb. 15. After Feb. 15 no more interview invitations will be released. By Feb. 15 you will know something either way.

Just finished my interview and completely blew it. I was rambling and giving incoherent answers--probably a byproduct of 100 hour work weeks, lack of sleep and prep, and inability to manage my nerves. Exactly everything a top B-school doesn't want to see in their class. Here's to hoping that my paper app is strong enough to outweigh my piss poor interview. In any case, I thought I would share the experience.
1) Tell me about yourself--walk me through your resume 2) Tell us about a time when you led a team and nothing was working out your way--how did you handle it 3) At the end of your 2 years, what would your ideal Booth experience look like 4) What do you like to do outside of work-i.e for fun 5) Anything else I should know/ you want to tell me 6) Questions for me
Interviewed on Campus with second year student and it lasted about 35 minutes. Good luck to the rest of you.
