For the 'Activities' section of the application, it asks "Please list public service activities, extracurricular activities and college activities." How far are we suppose to go back for this? It seems like we can add as many activities as we want. I'll have around 10 items if I go back and list everything from college. And they want start/end dates and descriptions for everything. That's a lot of information for a lot of activities--some of which I don't remember the specifics of.

The activities section has blanks for how many hours per week and weeks per year an applicant participated in the activity. For example, if I was involved in an undergraduate organization that met weekly, should I just put 2 hours per week, 40 weeks per year? I assume they're just looking for ballpark numbers here, but what do others think?

Does anyone know why the recommender's questions appear hidden this year? I found a link: http://www.chicagobooth.edu/fulltime/ad ... tters.aspx, but it appears to be an orphaned link with no where in the site pointing to it. It doesn't even appear to be in the online application. Are the questions in the link the right ones? Or just carried over from last year? or both?

Re: Calling all 2012 Chicago Booth applicants [#permalink]

i had a couple questions about the actual application maybe someone could help me with 1. in the "work experience" section - under each job is asked 'number of direct/indirect reports' - this means the number of people who report to me right? not the number whom i report to (I'm 99% sure just want to be 100% ) 2. what do you think is expected under 'reason for leaving' section for our present job? do we leave this blank since we have not actually left it? or do we answer it as if we were admitted to booth and would be leaving our jobs? - i'm assuming they don't want a 'why mba' in 50 words 3. in the 'activities' section - would you consider a humanitarian project you founded and led just for a couple of months (specifically because there was a war in your country at that time) an activity? it was a one time thing specific to the situation at the time (and probably to be mentioned in essay 2 about leadership style) but should it be listed in the activities section as well? 4. finally about the 'hobbies' in the activities section - do you think they just expect a list of hobbies? or some detail about our involvement in each? for example if you mention 'soccer' - do you say something like "play twice a week" - since its just for fun with friends, not a community group or fixed activity listed in the section above. or is it? thanks a lot for any help guys and good luck to all with your apps

Has anyone filled out the 'Education' section of the application yet? I have two questions: 1) I have a bachelors of science degree, and the options for 'level of study' consist of 'Undergraduate' and 'Diploma,' among a list of others. What's the difference between these two options? And what am I suppose to choose? 2) My major is not listed in the drop down list of majors. I majored in Selling & Sales Management, but there's not even a 'Management' major listed, only a Business Administration major. Is that not odd? Should I just selected Business Administration since it's the closest fit? I'd really hate to select 'Other' or 'Not specified.'
