Employment history [#permalink] New post 15 Nov 2008, 21:13
I'm taking a break for the essays and started on the other part of the application.
For the employment history, there's no word limit on the responsibilities and reason for leaving section. How did you guys treat that section?

Should it be short and generic, or should it be more in depth?
How did the responsibility section differ from what you have in the resume?

On my resume, I focused on my accomplishments. On the Web form, I added some general responsibilities in addition to the accomplishments from the resume. So, a little more details to make use of the given space.

I think the question is, why do bay area school have small class sizes (500 for Haas, 730ish for Stanford)?

I'm not quite sure why Haas is so limited. The b-school isn't that small, and I could think they could spill over to other classrooms (the campus has like 30k+ enrollment). I think Haas is trying to stay selective. That in combination with the part-time MBA program (which probably takes faculty time), and probably a bigger $$$ maker for the school.

there are two answers I've heard when I asked this question:

1. Haas (and Stanford) wants to keep the class size small to foster a tight knit and collaborative culture (like Tuck).

2. There isn't enough faculty to expand to 300 or 360 students for Haas (nor room) because of the undergraduates (which outnumber our MBAs 2 to 1), part time, and executive MBA. Once we have a new building and more professors, we will probably expand to 300 or 360.

Has everyone's status changed to "under review"? My status still shows "received" on the website. I submitted on 11/4.

I am in for R1. Submitted my app on 11/4.
Status still shows 'Received'.
Any clues on when interview invites generally start rolling and when do they stop for R1...

hi everyone, could everyone add themselves to the list (copy and paste from the most recent one above your post)? Unfortunately I won't be able to keep track of this at all times. Thanks!

I have an UG degree from India, and my status says that my application is under review and may have to provide an attested copy of the original UG diploma later in the process. Any Indian applicant here who is in the same boat? Thanks.

Under review here now as well. Good to know that not every place had my application fall out a window or into the recycle bin (cough Duke cough).

Hey garun77

Same case with me. Grrr. But I'm just sitting tight for the moment. Berkeley's my top choice and I can't allow myself to get too involved till I at least get the interview call.

Great involvement (esp. after appl submission) leads to greater disappointment.

But I have communicated this intent to the adcomm person who sent me the mail.

Good Luck, buddy!
