I'm guilty of going over by 10-20 words for other schools. While I don't think 1 word is a big deal, I'm a bit more careful with Haas because they have the term "maximum" in their word limit which seems more strict than simply saying its a word limit.

I am a little confused with employment history section. I was wondering how "Responsibilities/Key Accomplishments*:" section is different from the bullet points in professional resume. Or is it more or less an overlap? Can someone please throw some light through an example... btw, app instructions say "Submit your current resume or c.v. online, but not in lieu of your responses in the "Employment History" section."

A resume is essentially a summary of responsibilities and key accomplishments so I wasn't sure how to fill it out since I didn't want to be redundant.

In my goals essay, I'm using a particular company as an example of my career goal. I've mentioned this company three times in different parts of the same essay just because its a convenient example. Would this come across the wrong way to the adcom? I don't want them thinking this is the ONLY company I want to work for. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have started working on my R2 apps. Can't believe how exhaustive the LORs are! How do I go about listing 6 weaknesses (3 per recommender) without killing my application? Also I'm assuming we shouldn't repeat a weakness in the LORs coz that would mean one hasn't progressed right?

wow, that's a lot of posts in one night! I had a few essays that were 30-40 words over, and I got in. LOR: your recommenders can talk about the same weaknesses, so don't worry too much about that. I think my boss just mentioned one and said that I was perfect, hahahahaha :D Key Responsibilities: this allows you to elaborate on your resume. Your resume probably picks and chooses the jobs that are most important because of the limited space. Here you can list every job and responsibility you've ever had and what you've done in that job. It overlaps, but this one adds value.

Good luck everyone! Overachiever! , but seriously good luck! As usual, I'm still discovering last minute changes in my essays. I can never stop early.
