aakashganga, do you remember that fax number to fax the waitlist confirmation back to Randall Sawyer? I had my volunteer director send her rec letter to that fax number.....then a few weeks later I faxed my update letter directly to Randall as well. Then I just touched base with my admissions coordinator at Johnson to confirm that both were added to my file. Hope that helps! aakashganga wrote: Raabend wrote: IM IN!!!!!!!!!! Good luck waitlisters, have hope! Raabend, whom did you send the updates? Is there an email id that you send updates to?

Quote: "The wait list is fluctuating and the number of waitlisted applications is going to change constantly now. We will continue to make decisions on the waitlisted applications at least on a weekly basis, not just near the notification dates for the remaining open rounds. In other words, waitlisted candidates could receive an offer at any time.
Best Regards, the Admissions Team
The Johnson School at Cornell University" I guess this is good news, but I was kind of hoping for some reprieve between now and the R3 decisions...

No not yet, I just had the call from Randall yesterday afternoon. My online status still says waitlist and I have not gotten an email yet (although they said the email would come in a couple of days). Edit: My status just changed to "offer" online. sentiment wrote: raabend- do you have a status change in the application and/or an email from the adcom?

From Johnson admissions on BW: "Overall for R2, we're down about 13% for all applications (international and domestic) compared to last year." They also made a similar statement that overall apps so far (Rd 1 and 2 combined) are down. Texas_Dawg wrote: flood wrote: I've heard it's somewhere around 33%. yea, so from the ask johnson BW thread
R1 : +10% R2 : -13% (-20% internationals)
I didn't see any info about R3
Anyway, it's a negligible difference in domestic apps in R2, so the advantage seems to go to internationals.

I just got my invite this morning. My status went "currently under review" about three days ago. Good luck to all those waiting.

Quote: Round 3 applications are down 10% - 15% compared to last year. This is from the "Ask Johnson" thread on BW. So R1 +10% R2 -15% R3 -10-15% With international apps down ~20% overall. The no co-signer loan situation seems to have scared off a lot of qualified folks, so it is definitely a good year to be an international ...if you have $150,000 lying around! This should be of interest to all the wait listers out there (myself included) Quote: Cornell Waitlist Chat with Randall Sawyer Join us for a Cornell Waitlist Chat on Wednesday March 25, 2009 at 10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ET/5:00 PM GMT when Randall Sawyer, Director of Admissions, along with other staff members and students will answer your important questions about Cornell’s waitlist. Use this outstanding opportunity to find out more about what to expect as a waitlisted candidate. Join us on March 25th!
The chat will take place in the Accepted chat room.
