I am a round 1 applicant and just received an email for an interview. All candidates out there, please do not lose hope. There is a lot of fight remaining in all of us. Keep your hopes up!!

Do you suggest to visit the Cornell campus or schedule/call to setup an alumni interview. Kindly advise?? Thanks so much!

Congrats on your interview invite! Campus visits go a long way with Cornell, so I'd try to make it here if at all possible. However, if you live far (overseas, west coast, etc), you're off the hook. Good luck!

Can someone please share insights on if a candidate can be waitlisted without an interview specifically for Cornell. I was reading chat transcripts from Accepted.com, but no information on the same.

Any insight will be much appreciated as my hopes fade :(

NikkiMBA, I know you already got an interview invite (congrats again!), so this is not relevant to you anymore, but I will answer your question to the benefit of others who might be in a similar situation.

There were a few cases like that last year but my feeling is that most waitlisted candidates were interviewed. That being said, do not despair. Don't think about it until you hear from the adcom, sometimes decisions get released after the official date. Last year I got my interview invite a few days before results were slated to be announced.

Ariel- Thank you for your response. Its really helpful. I was checking email every couple of hours and I hated the feeling. Thanks again!

Ariel - Great suggestion! I just scheduled an on-campus visit. I agree in that it will give me a thorough perspective on the school and its definitely easier to speak w/ someone face-to-face.

Thanks again Ariel. Regards- NikkiMBA

I scheduled my interview on campus with an admissions officer. Obviously, on-campus interviews are non-blind, but does anyone know if the conversational style of the interview that people have said for alumni interviews exist for ones with admission officers? Anyone know of any differences?

Also to share a little about myself, I have about 2-3 WE in public accounting and looking to switch careers. GPA was around 3.8 but not from a top undergrad school. Extracurriculars centered around doing volunteer accounting work for a non-profit.

Interviews are semi-blind, i.e. the interviewer will have a copy of your resume as well as notes from the person reviewing your file. Prepare to speak about weaknesses in your application. The interviews are fairly conversational but that is a reflection of the communal spirit at the school. However, I would take a cue from the interviewer and err on the side of formality.

Thanks for your answer. I'll schedule an interview with them today. I'm an international student, and I prefer to schedule a Skype interview with an admissions officer. But the invitation email didn't mention the option of Skype, instead it provided merely on-campus\alumni\phone, right? Or does phone interview mean Skype video interview?

Any international applicant received interview invite for Round 2?
I wonder how long it normally takes to receive the invite from the time the status is changed to "under review"

Hey fellow applicants,
I would appreciate if anyone can comment on this

Does anyone have any idea whether there needs to be any style in which these questions can be answered
There is another essay asking
Collegiate Activities and Employment
Post-Collegiate Activities
Hobbies
Or can we just answer them one after another.

This is a shocker to me because I did not see any of these in the essays and I thought I was done with the documentation.

Does anybody find it strange its not among the essays and after the Optional Essay.

Regards.
