Are people getting phone calls for interview invitations? I only got an email?
I just received an email, which included instructions and links regarding how to schedule my interview.

Call the Inn at Darden, you'll get a discounted rate for interviewees. It's also right on-Grounds and you can literally wake up 5 min before your interview and walk over (although I don't recommend it )
Hi everyone. I received an invite to interview yesterday. I have some personal issues and might not make it to the campus for an interview. I am based here in the US, and I was wondering whether Darden will allow a Skype or a phone interview? I emailed them and have not received any response yet.

Nice to hear that interview invites went out yesterday. I believe there was a lull for a couple of days prior to that. I hope I get the good news too sometime soon.

Last time I was in Dulles, I was getting $70 quotes from Avis and other rental cars. I pricelined it and got a $25 compact car, which was eventually upgraded (they ran out of compact cars in the lot) to a full size. $25/day! Just bid on priceline.

That's so sweet! I just entered $25/day and got confirmed. I don't understand this priceline thing, the regular rate on hertz website is over $150 for 2 days.

With priceline, they let you bid but you wouldn't know what hotel or car rental you will be getting. Once they accept your bid, there is no more refunds.

It has really been quiet past few days. Can we still realistically hope for R2 invites?
We're still really only about 3 weeks past the round 2 deadline. I am sure that there are still plenty more interview invites that will come out. It's really tough, but I think we just have to be patient.

Well, the Darden students on this forum, and the school website all consistently say invites will continue to go out until the decision deadline. I think they mean it, but I also think that pretty much all schools send out the bulk of invites early in the process, and then there is a long slow trickle up to a week or so before the decision deadline. So I think your chances do go down over time, but there is no reason to give up yet. There is still a whole month at least of invite time.

Yep, applicants might get invited until the decision date. I literary met R1 applicants who came to interview on December 19th and calls for admitted students went out on the 20th...
Personally, last year I was invited to an interview three weeks after the submission deadline and then spent a TON of time biting my nails, expecting to hear the final decision. I actually think it's better to be invited later on - then you have less time to wait for the decision after the interview! Anyway the application review process is totally random and doesn't mean anything.
Good luck guys!
