Hello Friends,

After spending a lot of time on school selection process, i have decided in favor of Duke and will be applying in R1.

Please count me in.

Was thinking of applying to EA as it is always considered better to apply early but decided against it after considering binding policy.

Hope to see great action on this thread during this year's application process.

Best of luck
2011

I am in for R1.

I struggled with the goals essay for one month and a half. Never thought it would be so hard. Hopefully I will finish it this week.

I followed this structure for my Duke goals essay:

1) Half page - inspiration for career vision
2) Half page - long and short term goals
3) Half page - past experience
4) Half page - why mba, why now

I found that 10 font is not readable, so I am using 12 and aiming for 1,000 words.

Well, just to be clear- so, are we able to schedule an interview before we apply?

Yes, you can schedule an interview before your application is submitted.

Below is from the interviews page on their website:

"Available September 16 - October 16, 2010

During our Open Interview season only, you may request an evaluative interview in Durham, either during or outside of a scheduled campus visit. A completed application is NOT required to interview during the Open Interview period. "

I think all that is required is a copy of your resume to interview. Plus you also get a discount on application fee if you interview in Durham. Basically a free trip for me!

http://www.fuqua.duke.edu/programs/duke ... ation_fee/

"Individuals who schedule a Campus Visit through our online scheduling tool and come to Durham, or who register and attend a Duke MBA Information Session will be able to submit an application during the 2010 - 2011 application year for only $50, instead of the usual $200 fee."
