Am a R1 WL. I continue to be on the waitlist after the R2 notification. ( guess its better than a ding), your life rolls on with the slightest of hope. Besides, I see there is a high number of WL candidates for Duke in specific. Any reasons. or else they are planning to slaughter all of us in one go a little later.

Anyone, any idea which parcel service does Duke uses to send the admin packs? I would be nice to be able to track the delivery...

Has anyone received an email for the admitted student site or any info regarding Blue Devil Weekend. I'm assuming R2 admits are invited right?

I haven't received an e-mail for the Admitted Student site or BDW. BDW is less than 3 weeks away so I hope they send out invitations soon.

I'm sure they'll e-mail out the information soon. But in the meantime, if you plan on going, you should start booking hotel/flights. The rate at the Washington Duke Inn for BDW is $179/night, and on the facebook group, there's sign up sheet for roommates for Washington Duke Inn. There's a link to the official BDW website in the Admitted to Duke thread. http://www.fuqua.duke.edu/blue_devil_weekend

Being on the waitlist is horrible torture! Especially when you think you might possibly get off at the next decision deadline and it doesn't happen. It's like getting waitlisted all over. I'm wondering how long this pain is going to last. If I get in, I guess it will all be worth it though. Anyone else feeling the pain?

SHOUT OUT - If anyone is looking to attend BDW at a cheaper rate, you can look into the Millennium Hotel in Durham that is a mile from the school for $79/night (I'm staying Fri & Sat) on Expedia. They provide shuttles to-and-from Breedan Hall & certain other locations, starting at 7:30a.m. Shuttles run every 30 min until 10:45p.m., if I recall correctly. Cheers

Cheers Just for you to know, I read several reviews about Millenium hotel and looks like it is not a great option: filthy, musty, old dated, low-quality bath amenities, poor parking security, etc. Only two good things show up: closeness to Duke University and unexpensive (looks like they are trying to attract customers this way). I wouldn't make this trip just to find out all is true. There are other nice hotels south of Duke University on the 70-100 USD per night range. Drawback is that you need a rental car.

To echo what asimov posted before about bdw, the current students I've talked to have been pushing the WaDuke pretty hard. I was actually booked at the millennium as well (Got $69 on priceline, nice work on the $49), but their feeling was that if you're traveling single, the extra 30-40 bucks a night if you split a room at the WaDuke is well worth it as the school almost works it in as an extra element of BDW by arranging it as the recommended place to stay. My 2c, I'm sure anyone who stays at the millennium will do just fine as well.
