Did everyone in R3 receive a decision yesterday? Was it an email or did they mail them out?

OK. So I am a JD/MBA applicant. Submitted through the LSAC website before the Jan 7 R2 deadline which is required for joint degree applicants. But one of my recommenders waited FOREVER to get his letter in. I gave him a fair amount of time, and he had completed a letter, but it was for law school and he wanted to make some changes to tailor it for a joint degree program. Then he disappeared, eventually sending it in almost a full month past the deadline. So, I was still okay on the law school side, since their deadline wasn't until Feb 15, but Fuqua admissions sent me an email stating that I had been bumped into R3 and I would be notified on April 22. Meanwhile, I received interview invitations from other schools, but not from Fuqua, which was a little disappointing and surprising as I figured my GMAT score alone would probably get me an interview. Then April 22 came and went with no word. I emailed the employee I had been in contact with and she said they apologize for my inconvenience - they were now looking into my application and would be in contact with me next week to let me know when I would receive a decision.

So, it sounds like my application was inadvertently overlooked. I wonder if I will have any chance now, and if this is what actually happened, I wonder what would have been had it not. I can hope that I am accepted to the law school and reapply to Fuqua next year, but my MBA app is MUCH stronger than my law school app, so I might be out of luck. I always wondered what would happen if an application was somehow lost, and I'm afraid I might find out. With all the work I put into this application process, I am very discouraged by this turn of events.

Why are you going to the admissions office? What are you going to ask? Wish I could go and find out where they are with the waitlist.

I want to talk to someone face-to-face as opposed to e-mails and phone calls, explain to them my situation and hopefully get some feedback that is better than the generic "wait and see". I'm going to Darden Days anyways, so Duke is just a stop-over on the way.

Theres a poster on another forum that states a duke alum told him Duke's yield was around 60%. If thats true its devastating as their yield is normally around 40-45%/

Interesting. I definitely didn't.

By the way, I never made it to the admissions office. The day of my trip I got an e-mail telling me they were on some kind of a retreat. Will most likely be withdrawing in favor of Darden.

I'm not sure what else they can do. They are basically notifying people as they get withdrawals and they don't want to overfill their class. I'm sure they probably have an ordered list (or a few ordered lists) and they'll basically admit more people as spots open.
Wharton didn't seem to have that problem...

They dinged me. Honestly, at the time I much rather preferred closure to being strung along and then denied. Of course, by then I had Darden in the bag, so maybe it would have been different if I didn't.

Bump. Has anyone heard further news? Seems that if we are still on the waitlist and the deposits have long been due, that we are probably going to be on the summer waitlist? Do you all think we may get any information on how that may work or are we just left to the guessing game?
