That list seems like a list of 'any question ever asked at Fuqua.' I had my interview two weeks ago and it was mainly standard stuff. Resume? Why MBA? Why Fuqua? Talk about a difficult team member How will you contribute.

I had my interview this past Saturday. My interviewer asked me the questions in red. It's possible that the questions in blue were not asked because I covered them before my interviewer could even get to them. throughmba wrote: reach2bhush wrote: Hi,

I also interviewed this past Saturday and I was asked a lot of questions about team situations and leadership situations but that could have been since I am in consulting and all my work in team oriented. I would say the key is be comfortable and know yourself and why you want an MBA and from Duke. Everything else will fall into place if you are confident early. It seems from 3 people the questions were not standard at all.

I feel like this part is often overlooked.

thanks They don't explicitly ask for your accomplishments, but if you think about it, the things that have inspired you to pursue your career path should be somewhat tied to some of your accomplishments. Joining a club while in school and being elected as President could have been an inspiration to follow your career path. Doing well at work because you feel that what you're doing matters and then getting promoted one or two or three times could be one of these inspirations. The same could be said for your background, values and non-work activities. Volunteering to teach kids with learning disabilities could be something that you can talk about in order to show that you are always willing to help your classmates out if they are struggling with some lessons. Your experience as captain of the school basketball team that won the division championship game could show that you are able to lead and motivate teams. I definitely included some of my accomplishments in my essays, but I only added the ones that are absolutely relevant to the essay topics and contribute to the overall strength of my essays. Don't add them just to have them there. Otherwise, it's just going to look like you're bragging.

One big thing I would add is to have GOOD questions ready to ASK your interviewer. I was able to get my interviewer engaged and she lit up while answering my questions. I feel like this part is often overlooked. I totally agree with this post, but I would also like to add to it. If you have communicated with other current students/alums, I recommend that you bring this up with your interviewer so that they know that there is a reason why you are not asking them some of your good questions. You can also build off of this by asking follow-up questions to the answers that you have gotten from the other students/alums. Then they would be impressed that you have done your research and that you are really interested in going to Fuqua. My interviewer worked with/knew a few of the people, whom I had been in touch with prior to my interview, so we small-talked a little bit about these people. Then I gave her a rundown of what I had discussed with her contemporaries, and then proceeded to ask her some follow-up questions.

Hi!
I've a query for the interview part (if I get selected). I'm an international applicant from Singapore and am thinking of applying to Duke. Problem is that Duke will not be holding any interviews in Singapore and I would probably have to fly to the nearest city which is Bangkok and I'm not exactly sure if it would be worth the trip. This is in comparison to many other programmes where I can do a Skype or phone interview or meet an alumni in my own country. Would appreciate any views/thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!

Hi clubbers,
I got a mail today from Adcom that my transcripts were not complete, but I had already provided that in the admission portal while filling up the form. So now I provided them with my degree certificate. Please let me know if mailing them is fine or should I call them up to discuss about it? Has anybody faced such situation? After mailing also my application status is still showing incomplete -- they informed that if I do not complete it by 18th I will miss the ES round and they will consider me for R1 -- advices/suggestions are welcome..

Didn't they give you instructions on how to submit the missing documents? If so, it would probably be good to send them a scanned copy of your transcript anyway. I certainly wouldn't risk losing the edge that EA applicants get over R1 folks. As for me, I got an email from AdCom earlier today, confirming that my application is complete. I'm also already done with my interview... so I guess I'm just going to sit and wait until December 5th for the decision.
