Calling all Duke MMS applicants for Fall 2012 intake!!

I plan to apply for the Duke MMS program starting Fall 2012. If there is anyone else out here. Lets discuss!

How good is it? The pre-experience degrees in Management from Europe usually have a better reputation because those programmes are considerably older.
Duke has a good brand name.But when I searched this programme I didnt get much information with respect to student feedbacks, career services and packages.
Let us know if you have found worthwhile information about it!

Duke's official website, fb page, samatdukemms.com and lukeatduke.com has everything you will need! Its a relatively new course, as new as the LBS MiM

ya its as new as the LBS MiM.But the LBS brand is stronger right? This course might really catch on in a few years' time because its shorter than most similar courses in Europe. But then I'd still prefer an admit from the likes of LBS,HEC,ESSEC,ESCP even they they are nearly 3 bloody years long

hi guys

i am applying to DUKE MMS. gave gmat this week and got a score of 690,AWA5.
i will also apply to ESCP,EM lyon,Audencia ,HEC and LBS.

Any idea if my gmat score will be competitive enough(GPA-8.3-i am in 7th sem now)... i am also considering EDHEC

ya.ne score above 650 will be compttve i guess..

hey,
i am not done with my toefl yet.(its scheduled on 16th october). and so i cannot apply to r1.
are you done with your essays and toefl?

I am writing my essays. Have you taken the GMAT ?

If you have done your undergrad in English then you do not need to take the TOEFL. Speak to the adcom - Kendra/Catherine regarding this - Perhaps your req. can be waived off.

Btech(EEE)-8.3/10(till 6th sem)-no internships,just 2 in-plant trainings, Microsoft certifed Professional(MCP), Certified Texas Instrument DSP programmer, Certified DSP and DIP programmer using MATLAB ( I took a lot of workshops and courses in DSP and DIP!), few competitions in school-level (1 win, others just participation) average extra-cirricular, trained martial arts a bit...weight lifting, Co-ordinated 2 events in college fest...worked in publicity team during 1st year.

I am working on the essays, should be ready soon. Where else do you plan to apply and for which programs ?

i may also apply to some other european colleges like SSE,RSM -not sure yet..still researching.

I am too planning to apply to some EU schools but I do not know French or German language and it will be difficult to network, survive post school and get a job in that region without high proficiency in French.

So lets see.

I plan to apply to some MFin programs other than MiM.

ya. thats true.
I am also getting more and more interested in MFin programs... they are very quantitive and this i think will help in jobs...
