As per the email, we should receive another email invitation from the ambassadors;

How to Friend Us:
- You will receive a Facebook Friend invitation from Goizueta Ambassadors to the email address we have on record for you. This may not be your Facebook email address. The subject (automatically supplied by Facebook) will be "Check Out Our Photos on Facebook."

Yeah, I haven't gotten that email or FB message. They also provided instructions to manually search for the group, but that is not providing any results for me either.

Have you gotten the email or been able to find the group?

I did not get the follow-up email. I tried finding the group but could not find it. May be we can get more information during the Welcome Weekend.

Good luck to those that will be going to Emory. I withdrew my application and I'm opting for Georgia State. It's a quality program and 1/3 the cost for, what a couple of Emory Alumni told me, should amount to a comparable level of quality for a part-timer like me.

Hello all.

I was recently accepted to Goizueta. While I am excited, recent changes in my personal finances (lost a line of support from family) and am scrambling to file a FAFSA with the school.

I've got a few questions.
(1) How long does it typically take to find out what the FAFSA support is?
(2) Does Goizueta offer scholarships/grants to those that file in the 3rd round?
(3) Should I pay the 1000 deposit and see what the FAFSA/support/grant is?
(4) If it insufficient, and I reapply next year, will Emory blacklist, look down on my application?
(5) Any advice for someone whose financial situation is now unstable?

Hey Seanalare,

I don't like being the bearer of bad news, but I don't think Goizueta gives need-based grants. You should check their website, but I'm almost certain of it.

1) You will find out your expected financial contribution shortly after filling out the FAFSA (within 2 weeks seems about right)
2) The deadline to apply and get scholarships was 2/1/11
3) This will be up to you. Likely, you'll be able to get some stafford funding if you're a US citizen (about $20k), and then another option to borrow up to the cost of attending (at a higher rate)
4) They probably won't blacklist you, but you should think this through a little bit. If you're looking to get an MBA, think of the cost/benefit of postponing it a year. In most cases, if you want/need the mba, you should go as soon as reasonably possible.
5) B-school is expensive. I don't know if any schools still offer scholarships this time of year, but if costs are that big of an issue, perhaps you should try to see if scholarships are available somewhere else. That said, I would think that most people paying full price at Emory would tell you that it's worth the money.

Good luck with your decision.
