If what they say in their WL ding message is true, then it means that the yield has significantly increased compared to previous years.
Judging from the facebook group it might well be true: the 2012 admitted students facebook group has 309 members (of course this figure does not include admitted students who are not on facebook or did not request to join the group). Even if we exclude staff members and admitted students who decided to matriculate somewhere else my guess is that we are already very close or above the 240/250 class size target. I don't see many slots available for waitlisted or last round's applicants... :|

I was expecting this but am still very disappointed.

"We are writing to update you on the status of Tuck's waiting list this year. Tuck's deposit deadline was Friday, April 23, and we received an exceptionally high response to our offers of admission. Currently the class is at full capacity and we do not anticipate making offers of admission to candidates on our waiting list this year. In light of our high response, we are releasing candidates on our wait list and will not be in a position to consider you further for admission at this time."

wow. that's crazy.... sorry all.

Did anyone get a reponse encouraging them to sign up for an admissions feedback coaching session? They claim it is offered proactively for only 10% of applicants rejected. I was trying to get a feel for whether this was genuine or just them trying to be nice.

Apparently the entering class is over-enrolled and they are offering incentives to defer.

"Dear Kinokosarada,

With your matriculation to Tuck right around the corner, I am writing to give you an update on your entering class. As I mentioned in my letter three weeks ago, the response we received this year to our offers of admission has been unusually strong. Our yield on these offers increased significantly this year, a sign of the strength of and demand for the Tuck MBA experience. As a result, your entering class is over-enrolled. Therefore, we are offering an incentive to those who choose to defer their enrollment for one year"

Kinokosarada,

Given Tuck's smaller class pool, does this mean that there will be fewer acceptance for the upcoming app cycle?

Sorry aap. It sounds like they're extremely over-enrolled. At this point, I'm pretty focused on applying for next year's ED round.

Has anyone heard of people getting off the list this summer? Why do they continue to have a waiting list if they are as over enrolled as they indicate?

They likely want to make sure their class is still filled if some admits get in off other schools' waitlists and decide not to show up to Tuck at the last minute. The only thing worse than over-enrollment is under-enrollment.

Well friends, it is the end of the road for me and my Tuck aspirations for the class of 2012. I thought I'd create an account and share that I just received word that I've been removed from the waitlist (ie, not offered admission). It's been a long road. All the best to everyone still in the hunt!
