I am not mistaken, right? Dzyubam's post in the Pants Pooping Thread 2010 made me realize that no one created a Tuck thread this year yet.... What in the world?

A peek at the 2011 Class Profile was posted yesterday on Tuck's admissions blog: http://tuckschool.blogspot.com/2009/08/ ... -2011.htmlNothing too surprising...

wiseguyMBA wrote: I've heard from some people who visited, that the "being in the middle of nowhere" feeling at Tuck bothered them. What's your take on it? thanks It all depends on your perspective. Tuck is not really all that far from a big city. In less than 2 h you can be in Boston. When I visited Cornell, I really felt "in the middle of nowhere". The closest "city" to Cornell is Syracuse, NY and that's almost a 2 h drive away. There are quite a few people from NYC who are attending Tuck and from the discussions I've had with them, they seem to be adjusting just fine. At least one of them specifically chose Tuck because it was so different from NYC. I mean, once you get your MBA, you'll be living in a big city for the rest of your life. It might be the last time you get to live in a small college town in a beautiful part of New England. As for employers, it all depends on what industry and location you are targeting. If you're looking to focus on finance, NYU will have way more options, just based on the fact you're in NYC. I'm targeting health care and Tuck has an impressive list of companies who recruit on campus. Comparable with Kellogg or Duke. The other nice thing is because Tuck is so close to Boston, a lot of companies who visit MIT or Harvard also make the drive to Tuck since it's not really out of the way. RF

Interview report from last week:
First visit to Tuck, very impressed by the scenic location. Interviewer was 2nd year, was into consulting. Questions:
1. Walk me through resume. 2. I mentioned an interesting fact in my resume...so she dwelled on that asked me if I considered that the most significant accomplishment in my life. I said yes. 3. What inspired me to achieve #2? 4. Experience working in a team of diverse individuals. 5. Why MBA 6. Why Tuck? 7. what I'll contribute to Tuck? I didnt really mention a list of clubs..I said I'll draw from my past experiences and contribute in areas I'm strong at; community impact, study groups, also want to be a member of Adcom. 8. I mentioned being able to deal with conflict so she asked me an instance where I did that. 9. Any questions for her?
The interview lasted 35 minutes, pretty short. I felt good about it, was very conversational in nature. I saw a lot of people that day though...about 25 people interviewed while I was there, and I left at 1-30pm so maybe 35-40 by end of day?
I'll press the submit button tomorrow and then it's left to the Adcom Gods.

I had my adcom initiated interview in the third week of December. Based on the last year's topic on BW, very very few interview invitations were sent in January (actually, I can't see any). But only the adcom knows for sure...

Do you know the average GMAT for International Students for Tuck or any Top10 BS? Hey gariceta! I'm not South American, but I live in Brazil. Where are you from? There were plenty of South American students at Tuck when I visited, and it seems the average GMAT for them is about 700.

retailgirl wrote: For those of you in R2 that completed self-initiated interviews, does your Tuck visit show up in the "View Mine" pop-up in the "Events" section of the apply yourself application? My visit does not show up, but an event I attended at an earlier date does. Not sure if I should be concerned, as there was a place in the actual application to note school visits / interviews. Thanks! Just checked and it doesn't show my interview, but I wouldn't worry about it, since there is a place in the app to refresh their memory about your interview.

Hi All,
It's been a long time I did not post on this thread as I was hesitating about where to enroll...I finally decided not to attend Tuck so I made a seat available by declining the offer this morning, I hope it will make one of you happy (WL or last round!).
All the best to all of you!

From Tuck's Admission Blog LinkQuote: The advice that I have to offer is very Tuck specific - please make an effort to interact with us while you are there. We are very happy to talk to you and to discuss whatever is on your mind; it reflects well for you to undertake a through examination of your options. You should know that our alums are very passionate about Tuck, and therefore happy to talk about their time here, and also that we do pay attention to our conversations with you. It is not at all uncommon for an alum to let us know when they have met a really dynamic candidate, and we officers are also keeping track of people who make really great impressions. I mention this in the spirit of admissions guidance; I am not sure that prospects realize just how important it is to capitalize on every opportunity to shine. While you should definitely ask candid questions and learn all that you can - and we do not in any way expect you to attend receptions with prior knowledge about Tuck - we do notice candidates who seem genuine, thoughtful, and interested in engaging with us. These are characteristics that are prevalent in our community, and it helps you to stand out if you can demonstrate them. We really enjoy hosting receptions, and hope that you also find them to be both helpful and pleasant. Finally, it is great to hear from prospects afterward. I welcome follow-up emails and calls, and look forward to seeing many of you here for campus visits.

I'm def applyin EA to Tuck, altho I'm not completely sold on the remote location yet.
Goose, were you able to schedule your interview early because you're a reapp? According to the school's website, interview's for the 2009-2010 admissions cycle can't be scheduled until late August...
