I think they 'really do you need an MBA' question def needs to be answered. And also, with all due respect, I'm not an expert on work experience but it doesn't seem like being a turnaround manager is "really special" to an adcom. They probably just put you into the 'finance' category.

In order to get a scholarship you'll likely have to have a combination of impression stats, superior leadership (inside and outside of your organization) and very compelling essays.

Tuck, specifically, is very focused on offering scholarships to those they consider to have superb leadership experiences.

Thanks for considergin my job monotony (prolix)/not interesting, etc. :) I like it a lot.

Don't you think that unique guys with a "combination of impression stats, superior leadership (inside and outside of your organization) and very compelling" story with "superb leadership experiences" already have salary and job position far better than those hoping for an MBA or recent gradutes?

In nutshell most (not all!) of MBA appicants are not satisfied with their current jobs and go to business school either to change the industry or to accelerate their careers. So they have a need for booster.

The guys with combination impressive stats, superb leadership experiences don't really need any booster because for them live is already sexy enough. So without the need of let say MBA they would not consider applying. So the scolarship will remain in any PE fund or bank account and continue to accrue some interest.

The game is all about to pursue the school about your uniqueness and take that scolarship. All decisions are made by people therefore are subjective.

Would love any current/former Tuckies' opinions on this:

A paper a co-worker and I wrote for an industry conference has been accepted and we'll be presenting it in a couple months. Should I update the AdCom about this?

Thanks!

Sure, it won't hurt.

Did Early action applicants received the same mail?

The release date is Feb 10th, I have just confirmed it on their website.

I second the question. Should we expect calls? I also got the same e-mail and freaked out for a moment as well.

The email gets sent to everyone.

Hi All, quick question: interviews conducted by 2nd year students - are they blind? In the sense do they have only our resume or do they also have access to our entire application. Thanks in advance.

Mine only had my resume. But I did interview before I submitted my app so I can't speak to those interviewing after submitting.

Have all the admits been rolled out already?
I'd hate to get a ding from Tuck, was really looking forward to it.

Tuck releases their R2 decisions on Friday March 16th. Unlike other schools, Tuck does not employ a mid-decision date by which you are either invited to interviews or dinged, due to their unique applicant-initiated interview policy.

Hang on - just a few weeks more.

Guessing they would start the calls next Wed (03/14) ... any other guesses?

In my experience, during the November round, the results were posted online the day of the deadline at 5 pm sharp (EST), but I received my admission's phone call the morning of the day before. Good luck everyone!

I know from last year that some people didn't get the call until after the results were posted, so don't lose hope!

As promised LRW...

TheSenator! Congrats on finally making and posting "the decision"! I never really considered Tuck because there are other schools that are obviously better as far as giving me the tools to succeed in my industry; but career goals aside, I have a feeling that Tuck would have been one of my top three picks as well. Good luck at Tuck!

Good luck to all the people waiting for decisions this week! #teamLRW! :)

Congrats on your admit!

It would be really helpful if you can clarify the following..

1. In which round were you waitlisted?
2. Did you receive any feedback?
3. And did you submit any updates?

Thank you.

1. EA
2. No. Just the standard message about finding out around June (I guess I found out earlier...)
3. No updates.

Seems like I'm finding out along with the R2 crowd then?

Good morning hopeful future Tuckies. Let's all take a deep breath and keep the faith today. Soon enough we'll all hear results. Just a reminder, last round the vast majority of those reporting admits in this thread did so on Friday. Fingers crossed for everyone!

(hoping my Irish roots and the near-St.Patrick's day deadline give me some luck!)

Dinged w/ invite for feedback. Any reapplicants have insight into this process? How tangible is the advice? Had my heart set on Tuck and will most likely reapply EA next year.

I was in this boat last year ... but I got waitlisted with feedback (I assume they offer feedback to all the people waitlisted). Coming to the tangibility part, I hate to say this, but it depends. If you're a person with less than average GMAT or less number of years of work-ex or no quantitative background etc. etc., I'm sure they would give you some tangible advice and I got one. Even if you haven't received the invitation for feedback, I know people who have called up Tuck admissions in summer seeking feedback, applied in EA next cycle and got admitted. Show them how you've followed their advice and improved your candidacy - even if the result is not so tangible, elaborate your journey - your sincerity will shine through!

And my sincere advice to all the re-applicants - apply early, EA highly recommended or R1, the latest. I've done a big mistake re-applying in R2 for various unavoidable reasons and I know that's the biggest reason for the straight ding this year. I know a handful of people who've re-applied in EA and got in in the last 2 years.
