Future Tuckies and Lovers of Tuck,

I need you help. Just this past weekend I was nominated for 'Best of Blogging' for the 2011-2012 MBA season by Clear Admit. I'm humbled by the nomination. Many of you have been following my blog, which I'm super appreciative of and I would love to have your vote for this year's pre-MBA blogger of the year! If you would be so kind and support a (likely) T'14 I'd be honored. You can cast your vote here for The Senator.

Thank you all, and I hope to meet admits as ASW this weekend!

Hi all , I applied in April round, and I didn't receive any invitation to do the interview. Does that mean i will not get accepted ?

One more question , is it possible to get admitted without doing the interview ?

Thanks

Hi Other - while none of us have a direct view into the mind of the adcomm, the experiences of those on the forum in this and previous years shows that Tuck is very very very serious about their interviews. I believe all (or very VERY nearly all) admits interview (either in person or via skype). Tuck prefers that applicants self-initiate interviews to demonstrate their interest and commitment to the program. Certainly there are people who do not self-initiate and are later invited to interview (and potentially admitted), but this is a smaller number.

Unfortunately, Tuck doesn't release information about when they finish inviting applicants, so it is hard to judge your status right now.
Where are you based? If you are in the US and Tuck is your top choice, it would be in your best interest to arrange an interview on campus in Hanover.

Those are the new essays.

I can't post a link yet but the admissions released the essays on its blog.

Visit the school. Also, Tuck has something called "Tuck Connections" that is good for prospective students. You sign up and a few days later they put you in contact with a current student/alumni with a similar background as yours. Another way to "show love" is to research all you can about the program.

Visit the school. Regarding Tuck, this phrase shall be written in large letters... 8-)

I'll also be attending Tuck this September.

I'll also be happy to answer any questions that you have so please feel free to ask them here of pm me for a quicker response.

Right now I'm only qualified to answer questions regarding the application process but once I'm actually attending the school I'll be happy to answer whatever I can.

Just so you know, I applied in the April round, was waitlisted, and then finally accepted in June.

Good luck to everyone who is applying!

I am in for round 1 as well.

Also, I am attending the Summer Visit Day on July 29. I'm heading up from DC, but am trying to figure out the best way to tackle the event. I will probably come up Thursday night since leaving Friday morning and trying to get to Hanover by 9:30AM leaves way too many opportunities to get held up and be late... but, I'm debating whether or not to stay Friday night too...

To those of you heading up on the 29th to visit: what are you planning to do? Getting there from DC is kind of a pain so if anyone is interested in splitting a rental car or something from Logan Airport, let me know.

I'm also heading up from the DC/MD area, but I'm just going to drive up on the 28th, then leave when the event is over on the 29th. My plan is to leave work early (12-1ish) on the 28th, drive up, check into the hotel that night. Check out in the AM, go to the event, then just leave and drive home after 5 or whenever the event ends. Its A LOT of driving in a short amount of time, but I don't really want another hotel night to pay for, so I just have to bite the bullet.

Hi,

I am basically interacts in investment management and am looking at schools to apply in the 1st deadline. I wanted to understand from someone the following :

1. How is Tuck's finance program rated?
2. I am 32 hence slightly older than the average MBA entrant. I would like to know whether that would be an issue with Tuck?
3. What are placements at Tuck like? D several finance firms recruit from Tuck? Specially investment management? I understand that networking is extremely essential for IM jobs. That I am willing to do. Which are the regular finance names at Tuck? Any hedge funds in there?

Appreciate your help.

Regards,
Madly
