Admitted students and wait listers - Do any of you know the phone # that your acceptance call came from? I received a call from the 202 area code today (and I live far, far away from DC), so naturally I'm curious...

Anyone still active on the WL from January have an idea of when we might hear anything? The school is saying absolutely nothing in terms of dates. This is frustrating to say the least.

I am on WL since March. I am planning to give them a call but i know what's their reply is going to be. This is absolutely frustrating and being an international applicant i wonder if they decide to admit me will i get sufficient time for visa? I think its already too late for me. Yes I did call. The response was...no they don't know when they're going to review the WL. There is no set date. The WL is reviewed on a ongoing basis throughout the summer. Classes start in the beginning of August, so technically, we could be on the WL until then. They have to have some idea of what's going on because other schools have started moving people of their WL, therefore there has to be some sort of trickle down effect.

@Emmie1988: I guess its fuitile to call them and ask the same thing. Also i think if they are planning to keep me on WL through the summer i guess this is the end of the road for me as i wont have sufficient time for Visa process.
Do you have any other admission offers?

Hi tryin700. Yes unfortunately I have heard quite a few stories about people on the WL until a few days before classes start. When is the latest date you can apply for a VISA? I am not international, and am only waiting to hear back from GT, so I plan on staying on the WL as long as they keep me on.

The deadline to accept admission is June 15, so my guess is that they are waiting to see how many accept before they open the WL.

@Emmie1988: I called admissions office and the person attending the call informed me that they will make some kind of decision sometime in June (this after i pressed that i am international applicant and VISA process will be a pain if i am admitted late in the summer). For Visa there is no strict timeline, it all depends on the availability of dates, which are hard to come by during peak months of June and July.
@jk2010: I hope they open WL on June 16th rather than June 20th or later as this is getting quite frustrating.

Sorry guys for the late reply. I couldn't log in due to technical reasons.
Thanks for your insight in choosing between Georgetown and USC. Actually, I was inclined to choose Georgetown because I thought I would have better chances in consulting here. However, I am offered an admission from Cornell at the end of May and I accepted this offer. So, I will be in Ithaca for the next two years. This means, one more spot would be opened in Georgetown and USC.
