In the data form,HBS asks for the number of months of Part-Time Work Experience Since College (including part-time, contract work, unpaid work, etc.)
Can community work be included in this information?I have already given the details in the Extra-Curricular Activities Section.

A minor question is in the Work Experience Section, there is a question-"Reason for Leaving".Is this the reason for leaving that job for another job,or the reason for deciding to do an MBA?I have had just one full-time job since graduation,so should I leave this space blank?

For the work experience section, i would just put "intending to leave in Summer of 2010 for business school" or something like that. Don't leave it blank

also applying R1... only a week left!

i have a question about post-college extracurriculars. since i graduated only 2 years ago and i have spent all of 2009 (literally) preparing for the GMAT and applications, i have not had a chance to participate in any organized extracurricular activities that i can list in that section of the HBS application. any advice? is this a big problem that i should address it in the "additional information" section of the app?

thanks

i'm in a similar boat... not really sure what to do about it. i know im not going to address it in the extra essay, but i dont want to leave it completely blank either.

Just curious, is there no longer an optional essay available at HBS? If so, what did you do to add important information non-pertinent within the actual essays?

After the 'essays' section on the app, it has 'additional information', which is where you would put the optional essay.
Quote:
Use this section to include any additional information that you believe is important for the MBA Admissions Board to have in evaluating your application, but that you were unable to include because of the constraints of the online application.

Please limit your additional information to the space in this section. Do not send HBS any additional materials (e.g., additional recommendations, work portfolios, etc.), as they will not be considered in your application and will delay processing of your application.

im not going to fill it out though.. i dont have anything really life changing that i could add

Good luck to you, too! Feels good to have one (a BIG one) crossed off the list, doesn't it?

Good luck Javaexe!

Actually I feel a little hollow inside after hitting that button. Guess I have to come to terms with the fact that it is out of my hands now...

Wow, I just relized that I had stopped receiving automatic updates when someone comments on this thread. Good luck to everyone! I am submitting today after calling all of my fulltime and part time employers to confirm final pay and titles.

When it comes to the wait, I keep thinking nevember is not that far out, is it? Judging on previous years interview invites should start raining in a month. Does anyone have a date for those?

My application isn't ready for R1. I'm moving it back to R2 to really get it where I want it.

Just submitted ... not really happy but I think I have psyched myself out. I am not sure what I could change substantively and was fed up with the process. So submit I did.
