Submitted! This day seemed so distant when I first started writing essays... I can't believe it's finally here.
But, seriously, where did summer go?
Cheers to all my fellow Round 1 applicants, and good luck to everyone applying in Round 2!

Actually I feel a little hollow inside after hitting that button. Guess I have to come to terms with the fact that it is out of my hands now... Ya I know what you mean. Atleast until I hit that button I had something to do about the essays or check the form if things were filled up now it is upto the adcom to decide. Lets wait and watch. Shiva

Went through the app with a fine-tooth comb, and then parted with $250. I hope this investment pays off!

ive never read anything specific about it, but i'd be willing to assume that it gets processed in round 2. you might try sending an email to someone at HBS admissions.. however, that may backfire since they may look negatively on the fact that you rushed your app in.

I may be wrong... but I recall Dee's announcement regarding the server crash last year. She said the school would still consider the applicantions submitted a bit after 5PM for R1 as well. Then, I guess it was a special circumstance.
I think you should call school. I've been told numerous times by themselves and current students that Adcom people are more generous than what most applicants think. Then, the other side of my brain tells me what about the applications submitted at 5:03PM?
With no basis, I'm naive to believe that there is a high chance that your application may still be considered for R1...? Just call the school tomorrow morning and ask "anonymously".
Good luck!

Judging from the lack of posts in the HBS blog today I suspect they have started reading. This is what the blog says about questions: "Submit your questions via email to admissions@hbs.edu and put "Questions for the director" in the subject line. At this point, I think questions should be about the application and application process" hi0parag, I would say just e-mail them asking politely if an app submitted at 5:02 would be considered Round 1 or 2. I wouldn't ask for them to do anything about it. Just an innocent little information-seeking e-mail. They are usually pretty fast to respond.

Even after I submitted my application, I've been checking my file every other minute. At this point, it has left my hands and it'd be better not to know about any silly mistakes.
I'm a bit embarrassed to ask this premature question at this point, but I'm posting it anyway...
Once an applicant receives an interview invitation from school, how much time (on average) does he/she have until the actual interview day? I guess it all depends on when the adcom travels to your city, but it would be helpful to know the estimated waiting time... 1 week, 2 weeks? I think Kellogg and Columbia work quite differently, so I've been wondering about other schools.
