MBAgirl, I think you missed the Boston stats which were hidden in that first line. There are 758 slots up on the site right now for all locations, and 184 are still open. So it looks like 574 have been filled already. They might be holding some of the slots for new invites, but I'd be surprised if there were too many more than 758 in R1. For a 900 person class, I thought they admitted 400 - 450 in R1 and since it's historically been 50 - 60% acceptance rate of interviewees, 758 sounds about right.

Definitely seems like they followed an interview distribution scheme more similar to last year's as opposed to trickling them out as they've tried to indicate! Still surprising though, since it seems like a number of folks who seemed like clear invites haven't heard yet...

well using my google chrome skills, for boston, there are 454 slots, and 85 open

Chicago: 32 total slots, 10 open

Menlo park/san fran CA: 75 total slots, 42 open

LA: 12 total, 2 open

Asia: 70 total, 6 open

europe: 91 total, 39 open

NYC: 24 total, 0 open

of course this will likely continue to change in the next few hours, but this should give at least a rough estimate of what's left out there

That's 205 taken spots, but it does not include any Boston interviews - which could easily be double that, or any interviewees who haven't scheduled one yet. If they are about to interview ~850 people for R1 I'd say somewhere between 30-50% have been picked already. No info about interview announcements today - either not yet, or not at all. Tomorrow is another day.

Seriously! They "tweeted" that there were more invites to come on Friday, but that's it.

So, I may seem a bit angry and bitter because I did not get an invite. But what's the point in saying 'rest assured, many more invites are yet to go out'. What's the definition of many in HBS?

does HBS review apps before the deadline? i'm just amazed that they could review 3500-4500 apps in two weeks. i wish i knew what elements are automatic dings to them, no way every app got a fair look.

congrats to those with interviews, i hope to learn from you all as i get ready to place my apps in round 2.

I agree with this (and I'm coming from a different angle because I did get an invite). I think the process last year was much nicer, when they explicitly stated how many invites went out and how many were left to come. This is very helpful in giving people closure.

Wharton is even taking this a step further this year. They sent out a specific date in November and said you would either get an invite or a denial by that date. So nice to be informed and be able to move on if you need to.

I think they started sending out invites at 1pm EST in Friday. The tweet came out at 2pm EST indicating that more were in the pipeline which were sent out later in the evening in the same day. So all that may not be in line with

Does anybody know how long it took for HSB to review apps last year? This time it took them 16 days to review 4500 apps

I'm just sorry to hear this news today because I know there are still a lot of GMATClub folks waiting. I still have my fingers crossed that we'll get a few more folks interviewed since it sounds like there are are least 150 - 200 more invites that will be going out.

well put ... this is causing unnecessary angst for most folks.

Anyways - I am not going to lose anymore sleep over this.

Though there is a problem with incredibly fast occupance of slots - I am sure that they were locked initially. I think that we may make only guesses about actual number of invites. Those 185 - are not for future invites - most of them are for current, and as I said - some of them will be left (phone interviews) Joined: 31 Dec 1969 Location: India Concentration: Entrepreneurship, Leadership GMAT 1: 710 Q49 V0 GMAT 2: 700 Q V GMAT 3: 740 Q40 V50 GMAT 4: 700 Q48 V38 GMAT 5: 710 Q45 V41 GMAT 6: 680 Q47 V36 GMAT 7: Q42 V44 GMAT 8: Q42 V44 GMAT 9: 740 Q49 V42 GPA: 3.3 WE: Sales (Investment Banking) Followers: 0 Kudos [?]: 135 [0], given: 95181 Re: Calling all HBS Fall 2010 Candidates [#permalink] 19 Oct 2009, 09:58 Thanks Eteusch1, appreciated. i posted all the slots in the previous page of this thread, and several people have quoted that post on this page as well. just count the total # of slots in that post and that will give you the answer you're looking for

If we don't get an interview invitation for R1, do we get bumped to R2 or do we get a rejection letter?

You don't get bumped to R2. You either get an invite or you're done.....
