Kudos for starting the thread! I have spent some time on the campus and would encourage anyone looking at a school in Asia to seriously consider HKUST. I will get more info about the school to post.

I am in. Been searching lots of discussions between HKUST and NUS/NTU and finally i decide HK is much better on not only the Great China but also on Asia's point of view.

I will not be applying to HKUST, but one of my colleagues in Taipei was in their one year Master's of Finance course in conjunction with Stern, and he had a great experience. The campus is awesome (that I have been to!) and it seems they attract a really high caliber of professors. Best of luck to all those applying!

I will get more info about the school to post. wow bb is everywhere . What was the first thing that intrigued you when you were there besides the diversity? it is suprising 92% are non-HKs but then again it is not a huge province.... The building kinda looked like an office building not very flashy though...

The info on the site are just general pie charts breaking down industries but not specific names like US schools... There is one girl on the site got into morgan stanley though...

My class was hit pretty hard by the economic downturn, with HK mostly a finance city, however a few people landed in LVMH, Deloitte, JP Morgan. As for the building, I believe they are constructing a new one .. Yes the campus is nice, the dorms aren`t great but are extremely low cost, and it`s possible to rent a place outside of campus

I am considering 2011-2012's HKUST/Stern MSGF, however, there will be a 65000 USD bet. Worth it? will it pay back? Please feel free to throw in your 2 cents

If i got into equal caliber school with money i definitely consider that more...

ok guys! application is now LIVE! the rec is probably the EASIEST i have ever seen! 1. how long u know applicant (50 max) 2. check box ratings with no explanations 3. any additional comments?(100 max) THE END they do require 3 refs though but this can be done prob under 30 mins. guess it is probably not weighted as much but it sure is the easiest i have ever seen! also updated with app link as well as essay ques - 7 total but 200 words max so not too bad.

I will also be applying in HKUST this year. Since the avg age of class is 26-32 and avg experience is of around 6 years. Does anyone have any idea about the impact of the higher age (in the range of 32-35) and experience (10-12 yrs) on the application. Will it lower the chances?

i have almost 5 years if by the time admitted. Personally i dont think age is an issue but probably your 10 years of WE is. I heard that HKUST is more America-style, which means most people come in are looking for career changes, compared with EU-style, which most people continually back to where they were (mostly industry). So adcon may questioning why u are in position for 10+ years but still want to change.
