I was thinking about this school and ESADE, but saw both of their Websites that they require another exam unique to each school. The extra exam really annoyed me and I decided to not pursue it.

I apologize -- I am ignorantly getting all the business schools in Spain mixed up (IESE, IE, ESADE). I decided not to apply to IESE because my profile was a bit too experienced for their regular MBA program -- I fit the executive MBA program better. But I think IESE and ESADE are both excellent programs/schools. IE is the one that has their own exam (http://imba.ie.edu/admissions_requirements.php) although a closer look shows that it's not required (I could have sworn it used to say it was required -- but maybe it's my own dyslexia). Sorry!

no worries. IE indeed has an entrance exam which can be used to substitute GMAT.
P.S : took the liberty of looking up your profile, and your spectacular profile deserves a better b-school than either of these. good luck , and we might bump into each other on the LBS thread.

Thank you for your nice compliment! But I definitely don't think I am above IE/Esade standards -- both are fantastic programs (FT ranks them well, for one). Good luck on your applications! Would love to hear more as you progress.

Great to see a discussion thread already on IESE fall 2012. Never too early. I think in a few months, the thread will pick up a lot of traction. Great start!
Looks like you both have great profiles to get in.
A little bit about myself.

Namaste Ninja Jee, well atleast IESE has got a good loan program. Covers most of the tuition, And if you've already been a Desi student at an American Grad school, you (like me) should be an expert at cutting living costs .

Namaste dude! Aren't we all experts there living stingy. Yah dude! totally agreed. I'm sure we both aren't too worried about living costs. But I'm very cautious is the 77K Eur tuition. But honestly I didn't know about the loan program. My research on schools is very limited now (GMAT hurdle first ) can you tell me more about this program or direct me to where I can find this. If that's the case, my interest in IESE will shoot up big time.

I'm also applying to IESE, a little confused whether to choose between IESE or HEC Paris. In abstract terms, they offer the same challenge to me which is language barrier when applying for jobs. Having said that, my first two choices in Europe are IMD and LBS and the third would be either IESE or HEC. Your point of view ?
I think this thread has a good chunk of people looking at IE and IESE type schools.
Any clue on placements at these schools... especially at IE since it doesnt require GMAT and one can get in thru the internal test itself, which so far i have heard is not that difficult
and i heard IE placements are not that lucrative again.... any clues ?
So how many of you are ready to send in your apps? I am still working on mine and am going to try and get my apps in on Sep 19.
Also, the word count is killing me. Is everyone able to draft every essay under the word limit?
Cheers!
